I honestly didn't see this coming. Corus has announced the new morning show on 102.1 will be Ruby and Alex Carr, a brother-sister duo currently on the air in Vancouver. Their Toronto show will launch in January 2019. I sure got some bad intelligence on this one. At one
Humble and Fred were cancelled by SiriusXM Canada this past summer, but they're back on terrestrial radio starting Monday at 7am as the new morning show on Funny 820 (CHAM-AM) Hamilton. It's officially official now. @HumbleFredRadio is the new morning show on @Funny820. First live show is Monday at 7am.
Earlier today, I was discussing the morning show at 102.1 the Edge with Dani Stover, who used to produce the Dean Blundell Show on that station. I find it curious that 102.1 hasn't launched a new morning show yet, despite the fact it's ratings season. Marc from 12:

In this 362nd episode, Mike chats with longtime 97.7 HTZ FM music director and radio broadcaster Paulie Morris about the station he helped build, the greats he worked alongside, why he's no longer at the station, The Tragically Hip and The Boss. This episode is exactly 2:14:35.
For the first time in five years, there was no Humble and Fred show on SiriusXM Canada's Canada Laughs channel this morning. SiriusXM chose not to renew Humble and Fred's contract. No reason was given, but I have my theories. It's unlikely due to budgetary reasons as the licensing fee
CHUM was teasing a big announcement this morning, and with Marilyn's son Adam Wylde sitting on the sidelines waiting for his non-compete to expire, there was much speculation he was joining the team. If you follow me on Twitter, you knew that wasn't the core of this announcement. My prediction
CHUM FM promoted the heck out of a 3pm announcement today, and that got everybody guessing what was up with the Bell Media station. Were they going to announce a third member of the morning show? Was newlywed Marilyn Denis announcing her departure? What about Roger Ashby, the last on-air
What the heck is happening at JAZZ.FM91? The first sign something wasn't right was when Dani Elwell left last year. She was Vice President, Creative and host of #NIGHTLAB, but suddenly she was gone without an explanation. And yes, I've asked her to appear on Toronto Mike'd and I'm

Gene Valaitis, current morning man on Roundhouse Radio in Vancouver, received some bad news this week when it was announced Roundhouse Radio was shutting down at the end of the month. Back in 1993, Gene and his co-host Jesse Dylan received similar news from 680 CFTR when they were told
Last week, when I learned Al Joynes had been let go by Corus, I also heard Andy Frost was presented with a similar folder. Andy, however, was given something rather rare in radio. He would be allowed to say goodbye to the Q107 listenership on-air. I decided not to write

Bob McCown has announced his new co-hosts on Prime Time Sports. In one of the worst kept secrets in sports radio, Stephen Brunt will be co-hosting for 20 weeks in 2018. Brunt's done this before and he's as good as it gets. Funnily enough, when Stephen Brunt visited me recently,
