Enjoying the Super Bowl in Toronto

The bringing in of the new year can only mean just one thing to football fans — the playoffs are here. After one of the most exciting regular seasons in recent years and the first season under the new expansion rules, 14 teams are now fighting it out for a place in the Super Bowl. Taking place this year at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, CA, Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be looking to defend their status as champions. They are in for some stiff competition however. DraftKings odds for winning the 2022 Super Bowl currently have the NFC North champions the Green Bay Packers as favourites. Likely MVP winner Aaron Rodgers led the Packers to a 13-4 regular season finish, earning The Green and Gold a bye to the Divisional round. The Kansas City Chiefs and the Buffalo Bills round out the top three favourites for Super Bowl glory this year as we await the Game of Games on February 13.

The Super Bowl is one of the most anticipated events on the sporting calendar every year and this season is no different. Whilst millions will be sat on their couches with their wings and nachos, millions more will be looking to enjoy the game and the festivities that surround it from outside the home. For those of you who are Torontonians, you are spoilt for choice. Let’s take a look at how you can enjoy the Super Bowl in Toronto and some of the best venues in the city to watch.

The Ballroom - 145 John St

For a $25 cover charge you can tuck into brisket sandwiches, tailgate hot dogs, deluxe nachos and even enjoy a game of bowling at half-time.

The Addisons Residence - 456 Wellington St W

The Addison’s Residence is continuing the tradition of their Big Game Party this year. A $25 ticket earns you food and entrance to the venue that will show the big game on their HD projected screen along with 10 TVs. With games, unlimited snacks and a raffle, the good times will roll throughout the evening!

With over 200 HD TVs and an incredible 39ft big screen, there is no danger of distraction. As one of the most popular spots in the city, make sure you get booked in fast as you will struggle to find a better setting than this.

This 400-seat restaurant don’t just serve all of their beer on tap, they also brew it in their on-site brewery. You can pair their beers with Super Bowl snacks such as their bacon popcorn or mango habanero wings. This is a great venue for those fans who are looking for a more laid-back experience.

If you are enjoying the game at home but still want to experience great food without the trouble of cooking yourself then fear not. Tonnes of restaurants in the city offer takeout and delivery deals for Super Bowl Sunday. Rock n’roll joint Drums N’ Flats in the North Toronto neighbourhood offer fresh Ontario chicken wings, ribs and burgers as well as being a great spot to sit and watch the game. For those who are maybe looking for more of a fine dining at-home experience, Alobar located at 162 Cumberland St often offer spreads prepared by Chef Patrick Kiss, simply requiring to be reheated.
