I Wish They'd Have Left It Alone

thumbsdownFrom the moment they announced they were making a new Indiana Jones movie, I didn't like it. As a kid, I loved the trilogy. Next to the Star Wars trilogy, the Indiana Jones films were money in the bank to this youngster. Still, from the moment I heard there'd be a fourth, I've been sort of dreading it.

Now that the marketing drive is in full effect, I'm wondering if I'm the only one not looking forward to Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. I find when it comes to films and characters I loved as a kid, they do nothing but disappoint me when I revisit them as an adult. I already know I'm going to be disappointed by the new Indiana Jones and I'm ensuring I don't find out for at least another year when I catch it on TMN.

I just wish they'd leave some things alone.

I'm going to see it for my birthday. I have high hopes, but I'm uncertain. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed all through the previews.

Please don't suck, please don't suck... :)

The Critics were never high on these movies back in the day anyway so don't read all the hype, just go, enjoy and let the chips fall where they may, Im going Friday afternoon as soon as I get out of work....I can't wait.

We are going to see it on opening day. My husband is so excited to see the next installment of a movie he loved as a child also. Mike, if you go into this movie with a negative slant you will never embrace it. You need to set aside your childhood nostalgia aside and enjoy the ride. Have you ever gone back and watched a movie that you loved as a child and realized as you are watching it, it is not that good. A perfect example of this is......Harrison Fords acting in Return of The Jedi. It is horrible but we accepted it back then and we still do. Is Jar Jar Binks really as annoying as the cutsy little ewoks?(from an adults perspective)
Kate Capeshaw (Mrs. Spielberg) was horrid and can't act and yet we accepted her in Temple of Doom.
Make this a good experience and it will be. I can't wait.
Spielbergs worst film is better than most stuff that comes out today.
