Ahead of the Curve

Baby Update

Prior to Michelle's birth, I was told by many that I'd notice a big difference in my daughter's early years compared with my son's.  I was told she'd hit all her milestones earlier, such as sitting up, crawling, walking, talking, etc.

I took it all with a grain of salt but it's becoming rather obvious that Michelle's pace is way ahead of James'.  Right now I'm watching her take a few steps up-right with the aid of an ottoman for support.  She's only seven months old!

I'm feeling pretty good about how things worked out.  The boy came first and with no frame of reference we allowed him to progress at his own rate without an ounce of concern.  He's developed into the sweetest, kindest, smartest kid with a tremendous sense of humour.  Now we have the girl who is doing everything much earlier.  Because our frame of reference is the boy, this all seems much easier than it should.  It's awesome.

The moral of this story is, if you're going to do the boy-girl thing, have the boy first.  It's definitely the way to go.
