Nash the Slash passed away on the weekend. He played electric violin on The 102.1 Band's "Working on the Radio", a song by CFNY and about CFNY, written by Brad McNally and Jim Bird. Here's "Working on the Radio" from 1979. Download this MP3 here.
I grew up a Leafs fan. I remain a Leafs fan. It's been tough. We've never made the Stanley Cup final in my lifetime, and we've only made the playoffs once in the past decade, when we lost in the first round. There's not much hope for next season, either.

I have a work-issued MacBook Pro I've been using since 2011. It's the machine I use when I need to do heavy lifting, and lately it's become rather sluggish. I'm not an Apple guy, so I didn't really know the process. Silly little me hopped on his bike during lunch

There's a new service called Prepd opening today in Toronto. I was lucky enough to get a sneak peak last week. Delivered to my door was a mealkit with a wholesome, delicious recipe and the precise amount of fresh ingredients needed to cook this recipe. Our meal was top sirloin

There's only one month to go before my Ride to Conquer Cancer. Here's a little update on my progress and another plea for pledges as I gun for $5,000. I chose to ride this 220 km on June 7-8 for my dear friend Mike Kic, who was battling stage

The Guvernment / Kool Haus Entertainment Complex at 132 Queens Quay East is closing its doors for good on January 31, 2015. The last gig I saw at the Kool Haus was the CASBY Awards 2008. You can read my recap of that event here. Looking back, that was a pretty
While the Raptors were busy building a big lead against the Nets and almost letting it all slip away, my Twitter feed was erupting with news of another Rob Ford crack video and an audio recording of his typical misogynist and homophobic ramblings. The Globe has the details about Rob
In the past, I've written often about the Sakura / Cherry Blossom trees in High Park. Often they've already come and gone by this time, but this year they're delayed by that long, cold winter. Experts predict they won't bloom until mid-May or even later. If you want regular updates, I
