One of the most popular Simpsons memes is Homer slowly coming out of a bush. I almost wrote "Homer Bush", but he played second base for the Blue Jays from 1999 until 2002. His standout season was in 1999, when he batted .320 and stole 32 bases, but this isn't about that Homer. This is about that iconic scene in Homer Loves Flanders, the sixteenth episode of the fifth season of The Simpsons.
Homer Loves Flanders is one of the all-time classic episodes, jammed with great jokes and pop culture references. It was the last episode to be pitched by Conan O'Brien before he left to host Late Night on NBC.
When kids see this gif of Homer backing into Ned's hedges, do they realize it's a parody of Terminator 2? This episode has a few T2 references, including that great scene where Homer is chasing the Flanders family with golf clubs in his hands.
Here's the scene from Terminator 2, a movie I loved to pieces.
