It was surreal arriving at the dome on a warm October evening just as the Blue Jays were completing a 10-1 shellacking of the Yankees in their first playoff game of 2025. Everybody was in a good mood as I locked my bike outside the Rec Room and made my way to Jamie Dew's Hip event.
Donning a Tired As Fuck tee, I enjoyed several conversations with fellow Hip fans before crashing the performer's lounge to chat up JD himself and the special guest for the evening, Tara Slone. Tara and I talked about her making her Toronto Mike'd return soon, so stay tuned for that.

I also want to shout out Sara J., a Hip fan from Buffalo who has helped JD immensely with his podcast and tonight's event. And Jeremy Hoyle, lead singer of The Strictly Hip, a Hip cover band from Buffalo. I told Jeremy with a name like that he should start a Pearl Jam cover band and he shot me a look that says he's heard that one a few thousand times.

One nice person I chatted with reminded me of a frequent commenter back in the day who went by the name Whorella Mundane. This chap also reminded me that I once wrote about Whorella, and revisiting that post is something else...
And a huge WTF for Mother Nature who made it so much warmer on the waterfront after dark than it ever should be in Toronto. It was a wonderful ride, but scary as shit.
