Earlier today, I joked with my youngest son that I should wear a monocle like the Monopoly Man. He quickly pointed out a fun fact he had learned that the Monopoly Man didn't wear a monocle. It was an example of the Mandela Effect.
I could have sworn he wore a monocle! But there he was on the box sans monocle.
A trip to Snopes confirmed what my son was saying, although there was an edition of Monopoly Junior featuring the Monopoly Man wearing a monocle. You can see the proof in that photo at the top of this article. But I'm convinced the Monopoly Man doesn't typically wear a monocle.
There is that scene from Ace Ventura, however, where Jim Carrey spots the Monopoly Guy with a monocle, but that sure isn't proof of anything.
