My friend Mark, who recently ran around Toronto, wanted to bike around the city. When he asked me if I wanted to join him, I couldn't think of a good reason not to, so at 7am this morning we rode off on our 136.4 km adventure.
That's right, our ride around Toronto was exactly 136.4 km. That makes it the single longest bike ride of my life, beating the first leg of my ride to conquer cancer six years ago.
This ride included a couple of other firsts. It's my first ride to Pickering and my first ride in Rouge Park. I'm glad I did it, but I'm going to happily return to my daily 30 km rides if that's okay with everyone.
