135km Run Around Toronto for the Canadian Red Cross Society on May 30

My good friend Mark Carey has a plan to help our most vulnerable during this COVID-19 pandemic. He's going to run around Toronto on May 30 in an effort we're creatively calling the "Run Around Toronto".

The Run Around Toronto is a solo 135km run around the perimeter of Toronto, in support of the Red Cross relief efforts for COVID-19. The Red Cross focuses on helping the most vulnerable, which is exactly what we need right now.

All proceeds from the Run Around Toronto GoFundMe campaign go automatically to to the Canadian Red Cross Society (CRA: 119219814RR0001). The mission of the Red Cross is to improve the lives of vulnerable people. Mark's going to run the entire 135km route in one single effort. Running 135km is about the same as running three marathons and then doing a 10K. It would also equal the furthest I've ever cycled in one effort. I can't fathom running that distance, but to help the Red Cross, Mark's up to the challenge.

Here's the route, if you're curious how you run around a city the size of Toronto.

I urge you to donate to Mark's run  and if you're a member of the media who could help us shine a light on this effort, contact me. We'd appreciate it!
