Reusable Cloth Diapers a Success

Getting Started with Cloth Diapers

It's been seven months since I wrote about the reusable cloth diapers I'm using with kid #3, so I thought it was time for an update.

To recap, my first two children used disposable diapers. This time, my wife bought reusable cloth diapers from BumGenius and Fuzzibunz. Yes, those are the brand names.

I can honestly say after seven months that it's been a complete success. Baby Jarvis has had less diaper rashes than his siblings, changing these diapers has been far less disgusting than I anticipated, and the only expense is the cost of washing these diapers every two days.

Up until Jarvis switched to solid foods, you simply rolled up the dirty diaper and put it in the washable bag that hangs on his door. Now that things are solidifying, we've introduced a flushable paper sleeve between him and the diaper that makes it easy to simply drop the waste into the toilet. It's really very easy.

I wasn't sure how this experiment was going to play out, but so far, it's been a resounding success.
