Richard Dawson, Dead at 79

In MemoriumRichard Dawson was 79. He was the wisecracking British entertainer who was among the schemers in the 1960s sitcom Hogan's Heroes and a decade later began kissing thousands of female contestants as host of the game show Family Feud.

You know, even when they're not trying...

Antenna TV had a repeat airing of King Rat (with "You make the coffee" Dawson) this very afternoon. It had simply been an earlier part of an all Memorial Day war-film scheduling.
Antenna TV had also put on an immediate full-weekend Davy Jones of 'The Monkees' tribute while competitor me-TV made due with alternate Davy Jones guest appearance episodes. Bounce TV also had a Donna Summer tribute scheduling within two days.

For Toronto..., there's a generation-ago Chum DJ musing about having lived directly inside of the city(!), playing local music acts on the air, and visiting its clubs. That's not today's Toronto.

That's not today's Toronto?

Arguably, nothing in your comment is "today's Toronto". What's your point?

I'm sick of having Toronto's lead personalities being too numerously long-in-the-tooth and/or talking about living out in the far burbs and rural areas and giveaway trips away. And I'm sick of a media cartel (being also Canada's national headquarters for most) that makes a less than zero effort throughout every branch of its presentations. That's my goddamn point!

Little Antenna TV puts up a movie featuring a deceased star without even trying. The Cool TV airs videos by the unknown likes of Diamond Rings, in U.S. prime-time. Me-TV airs Yankees games [one of the world's highest in-demand teams] freely every week while I - in Toronto - cannot find a single Blue Jays, Raptors, nor CFL game at all via a broadcaster. Even when CTV airs a non-simsub US Movie during the Sunday evening Grey Cup last November and Rogers licences out and approves an over 20 year-old labelled photo of its Rogers "Center" last Fall?!?
And that's just the media. Then consider our condo craze or the public transit - bloody Union Station got swamped with sewage water, because it rained?
When the f*ck will anyone here in today's Toronto, Canada make a goddamn bloody effort? For once! Even if just a half-effort?
