Tonight I attended an intimate Hayden show at the Revue Cinema on Roncesvalles. If you want to hear me gush about how much mad respect I have for this artist, you want episode 1336 of Toronto Mike'd. Heck, I recorded an entire episode about Take, his entry in CFNY's 1993 New Music Search. Shout out to Noah Mintz.
The Revue Cinema is a pretty perfect venue for Hayden. It's just him on stage, with a piano and guitars and harmonica. He played a bunch of fantastic new material, as well as some choice selections from his catalogue.

And yes, he closed with his MuchMusic "hit". Although the girl, who was originally 16 before aging to 23, is now 33.
But that was all we got from my favourite Hayden album, Everything I Long For. The final day of September is an ideal time for In September. But then again, I'm stuck in the 90s. Hayden is clearly trying to move on. But at least we got Trees Lounge.
It's time for Hayden to return to the TMDS basement studio. Perhaps a KOTJ is in order.
