The last time I saw Matt Good in concert was 1998 in Barrie when I saw him perform on the side stage before a Pearl Jam concert. I thought he was great, and I'd go on to own two Matthew Good Band CDs.
Last night, I biked over to the CNE to see him again. That's 28 year between Matthew Good performances. Don't ask me why, I still think he's great.
Here's the setlist, loaded with a sneaky number of bangers.
- Garden of Knives
- Everything Is Automatic
- Rico
- Apparitions
- Hello Time Bomb
- Born Losers
- Guns of Carolina
- Indestructible
- Alert Status Red
- Parts
- Pledge of Allegiance
- Load Me Up
- Weapon
- Giant
- Alabama Motel Room
Indie88 presented this show, so Bob Willette did the intro. That got me sidestage (thanks Bob!) but after the first song I realized the acoustics were pretty awful and we moved to the front of the stage.

Seeing Matthew Good again reminded me of my interview with him in the years before I had a podcast. Via email, Matt agreed to answer a bunch of questions from yours truly, merely a blogger at the time. I thought that was pretty cool. You can still read that 2005 interview here.
Matthew, if you're reading this, it's time to get you on Toronto Mike'd for a follow up conversation 21 years later.
