The Original TMDS Podcast Studio Configuration

Yesterday I noticed it was the 11th anniversary of Raymi the Minx's Toronto Mike'd debut. Raymi had a handler of sorts with her, and he took this photo of us recording. It's a pretty good glimpse into the original configuration of my home studio.

It was the days before there were any cameras shooting video, and the the tables were against the wall. It was episode 88, so there were no sponsors of Toronto Mike'd. Even Great Lakes Brewery hadn't reached out yet.

That original board, a Mackie PROFX8, would be lent to Bob Willette at some point and is currently with Jim Shedden. I upgraded to my current RODE board several years ago.

That external screen was properly recycled at recyclemyelectronics.ca as I opted to only use my laptop screen. Those tabletop stands are now only used for remote recordings as I upgraded to swing boom arms. Those microphones and shock mounts are still used today.

That artwork on the wall was by my oldest daughter, although at the time, she was my only daughter. I don't know if I still have it somewhere, but if I find it, I'll return it to the studio.

While I'm doing that, I will find that Public Enemy tee shirt and bring it back. Never forget your roots! I still can't believe I'd eventually have Chuck D on Toronto Mike'd.

I see my 1985 Andre the Giant mug on the studio table, and I'm pleased to say it's still on the studio table.

And those chairs we're sitting on, they were donated by Blue Sky Agency and are still in use today. And here we are, 11 years later, and Blue Sky Agency is now a sponsor of the podcast.
