There's this song I only know from a Simpsons episode - I always thought the title was "That's My Boy" but it's actually called "Watching Scotty Grow" and it's by Bobby Goldsboro.
So I found myself diving into this guy's catalogue and it's a lot of slop but this guy had one of the biggest hits of '68 with a song called "Honey" and wow is Honey a stinky slice of cheese - but this thing was at #1 for weeks!
1968 is wild because at #1 you have "Hey Jude" and at #3 you have "Honey" but sandwiched in the middle you have this instrumental by Paul Mauriat. This song, "Love is Blue", was the second biggest Billboard Hot 100 jam of 1968.
