In that episode, Jamie Dew spoke about Getting Hip to the Hip, his new podcast. It features Jamie guiding his friends Pete and Tim through the discography of seminal Canadian band The Tragically Hip. The catch is that Pete and Tim have never heard of the Tragically Hip before! Will they fall in love with Canada’s favourite band? This podcast will run a new episode every Monday of the summer, culminating in a live finale Friday September 1st at The Rec Room.
That's right, Getting Hip to the Hip - An Evening for the Downie Wenjack Fund takes place on September 1, 2023, at the Rec Room in downtown Toronto, the day after #TMLX13. Pete will be joining all the way from Malaga, Spain, and Tim will be arriving from Portland, Oregon to record the final episode of Getting Hip to the Hip. On top of that the show will feature comedian Pete Van Dyk as master of ceremonies with special guests 50 Mission, a fantastic Tragically Hip tribute band. They are also proud to be hosting a Silent Auction with donations already coming in from The Tragically Hip and official band photographer David Bastedo. They want to raise as much money as they can for the Downie Wenjack fund while entertaining a crowd they're hoping will be 250 strong.
