Leo Rautins and Mike Zigomanis: More Sportsnet Changes

The other day, I wrote about Jim Hughson's retirement. After 42 years, he's decided to call it quits and will no longer call NHL games for Sportsnet.

News broke yesterday about two other changes at Sportsnet. On the television side, Leo Rautins will not be back as Raptors analyst alongside Matt Devlin. Instead, Sportsnet has opted to go with former Raptor Alvin Williams. Leo says he'll still be seen on TSN's Raptors broadcasts.

Leo Rautins has been part of the Raptors broadcast team since day one, and when he visited in 2019, we dove deep into his career, both as an NBA player and as a broadcaster. If you haven't yet heard Leo on Toronto Mike'd, rectify that immediately!

By the way, I chatted with Leo Rautins this morning, and in mid-October he's returning to the TMDS studio for another Toronto Mike'd appearance. Subscribe so you don't miss it!

On the radio side of things, Sportsnet has notified former Toronto Maple Leaf Mike Zigomanis that his services are no longer required on The Fan 590. He had been co-hosting the morning show with Scott MacArthur.  No word yet on whether he's being replaced or if Scott will go it alone. I've sent Mike Zigomanis a note inviting him to appear on Toronto Mike'd, but have yet to hear back.
