I Had the Confederate Flag in My Home

The Confederate flag is under attack. A symbol of slavery and racism, the South Carolina legislature is finally removing it from its State House grounds while stores are busy removing the emblem from shelves.

Back when I was young and innocent, I played with the Confederate flag daily. My favourite show was The Dukes of Hazzard and I loved the General Lee, the Duke boys' car. Like many guys my age, I owned a toy replica of the General Lee, complete with Confederate flag on the roof.

As did I Mike. It was my favourite show! I even had a Dukes of Hazzard lunch box (my prized posession at the time) and colouring books. Wasn't there also a short-lived Dukes of Hazzard cartoon? Or was they just guests on Scooby Doo or something? I'm sure I could look it up online.

I slept on Dukes of Hazzard sheets. Daisy was literally on my pillow.

But would a racist marry a visible minority?

Bo Peep

Right on Mike. Why indeed. You are no racist but most of those people down there who love that flag are hard core, violent racists.

Up here it's a relic of a quaint time.

Don't quote me on this but I heard Roy donated his fee for appearing on the Dukes of Hazard to the 'Deconstruct a Confederate Flag' installation art/ performance project in Atlanta. Baby blankets made from the threads Given to low-income families Descended from slaves.

In quest

Bill Clinton liked the Confederate Flag (among other things).

However, official documentation proves that Bill Clinton did, indeed, support the Confederate flag.

As previously reported on Inquisitr, Clinton signed a law in 1987 supporting an Arkansas flag design commemorating the Confederacy. A clause within Act 116 of the 1987 Regular Session reads, “the blue star above the word ‘ARKANSAS’ is to commemorate the Con

@Toronto Mike,

"But I have a visible minority friend!"

Ages ago I made the inadvertent mistake of dating two Chinese girls in a row and got accused many times of "Yellow fever" and being a racist piece of shit fetishising Asian women.

I think I still have my General Lee in a box in the basement. Loved that show!

People will attack anything these days. It's a totally judgmental culture.

June 25, 2015 @ 7:46 AM

Can we still like the sound of the General Lee's horn?
