I'm Allergic to Stuff

allergic to stuffI'm not literally allergic to anything, but I don't want stuff. I was thinking if you left me some fairly basic clothing and footwear, and a few kitchen and bathroom essentials, I'd be very happy with a mere handful of items.

  • At least one decent wifi-connected computer
  • My Android phone
  • My baseball glove and tennis racquet
  • A deck of cards

I'd miss cable tv for the live sports but I'd learn to live without it. I don't think there's anything else...

Toronto Mike Verified as the defacto Toronto Mike

I'm not counting wallet content and files, like tax receipts, driver's license and credit card and banking statements. That's not so much stuff as grid essentials.

What a very odd, yet interesting post.

I have nothing really to add, except that it reminds me of this quote from a film, which I'm sure someone can identify, particularly if you're over 35 or so:

"All I care about is me, my drums, and you"

@Ryan G

I loved Elias Koteas in that film. A totally underrated Canadian actor, and not just b/c he was Casey Jones.

Toronto Mike nailed it!

As a hint to others, it also featured a "brilliant" song from a band named after something you put in your house...

I guess those don't fall under "kitchen essentials". My French Press is a must-have.
