I caught the Spoons in concert last night. If you're too young to remember the Spoons, they were a pretty big deal around these parts in the 1980s. They were part of that synth pop scene you've heard in old John Hughes movies.
They sounded great. I grew up hearing "Romantic Traffic", "Nova Heart", "Old Emotions" and "Tell No Lies" on the radio, so this was quite the retro night for me.
Adding to that 80s flavour was this fellow co-hosting the event. This is Michael Williams, MuchMusic veejay from 1984 to 1993. I'm the white guy.
This entry was brought to you by the '80s.
