Leafs 2nd in NHL Eastern Conference

leafsBefore I forget...

I wanted to point out that the Toronto Maple Leafs are currently in 2nd place in the NHL Eastern Conference. And those 1st place Penguins have played 3 more games than we have.

That is all. Carry on.

You're the king of the jinx.

And with that, the Leafs fantastic run comes to an end. Thanks, Mike.

Keep it going tonight vs. Ottawa.

Well,, good that my Habs are on a roll as well. That's great, but wish the Leafs would lose a few.

Leafs have played great.

Sorry Mike you just jinx them.

Hopefully not.

I assure you all, I'm not capable of jinxing this juggernaut.

It's 1-1 after 1 in Ottawa. You can put this one in the W column. Trust me.

Every year, Mike...every year.

Any chance you could never mention the Leafs on your blog again?

My apologies to Leafs Nation.... errr, I mean the Barilkosphere. I fear I've done it again.

I fucking hate you right now.

Don't get me wrong, I wanted them to win, but at the very least, that was worth a good laugh to brighten my evening.

Mike...It's whenever you show the standings that the jinx seems to kick in. Stop it!

Have I been jinxing them for 45 years?

October 31, 2011 @ 10:23 AM

Just as long as you've had your blog.

I'm not buying the jinx angle. The Leafs can go belly-up all by themselves.

It's been a bright ten games and I hope for more good things to come, but my doubts still linger. I don't feel that confidence I had back in 1992-93.

I'm glad they lost. That was good. My Habs will keep winning and be ahead of the Leafs. Go Habs.

I love how habs fans say ole like their european or something....My Grandfather was born in France and they hate the Quebecers....When Quebec was trying to seperate from Canada they were debating trying to rejoin France as a colony and France said NO!!!!

Hey Phil-I love how Leaf fans say nothing.

Oh I forgot about the waffle-toss. How avant-garde!

Having a chant unique to North American sport rather than the usual "Go -insert team name here- Go" shows the fan base has passion a little creativity.

I'm a proud Habs fan. Habs all the way. I will never stop loving the Habs. I'm proud of it. Ole ole. go Habs.

@Quinny - LOL I hate how Toronto fan's say nothing. I wish real fans could afford tix...rich bastards. I love the Leafs...I hate MLSE.

I like the Habs but do not like the Olé Olé Olé song. With all the talk about NHL realignment, a Toronto only conference would ensure the Leafs a play off spot thus taking out any possible superstitions Leaf fans may have. The And it's fans need a parade.

November 3, 2011 @ 7:36 AM

Come on. The ole ole song is great. I love it. There will never be a Toronto only conference. Go Habs.
