Testing Google's Video Upload Program

Google

Google launched their Video Upload Program yesterday.  Anyone can upload a video so long as it's not pornography or offensive and you're the copyright holder.  To quote the Video Upload Program FAQ, "Google respects the rights of copyright holders and publishers and is only accepting video uploads from persons who hold all necessary rights to the uploaded material."

I'm going to test Google.  Earlier today, I uploaded Custom's cool new video for "USA".  I happen to have written permission from the copyright holder permitting me to do so, but Google doesn't know that.  I want to see what happens when a guy named Mike Boon tries to upload and share a Custom music video.  Will Google deny me because they suspect the video is copyrighted?  Will they email me about their concerns asking me if I've obtained permission from the artist?  Will they respect the rights of copyright holders and publishers enough to do anything or will they host the video without a fuss?

We're going to find out.  I'll keep you posted.
