Six years ago today, I picked the kids up at daycare and they stayed home for a very long time. It was also a Friday the 13th, and it was really a last hurrah of sorts.
That day, my in-person basement guest was The Toronto Star's David Rider. It would be the last time I recorded Toronto Mike'd with someone in my basement until July 15, 2021 when the skies opened up during a backyard recording of Pandemic Friday and Stu Stone, Cam Gordon and I were forced back to the basement during Drowning Pool's Bodies. What a moment. 16 months later...
On Monday, March 16, Peter Gross visited the basement studio as he always did on Mondays, as we'd build out an episode of Down The Stretch, and I remember telling him we had to pivot. It was bubble time.
Looking back at it all, I can't believe it happened. But it did. I wonder if it could ever happen again.
