CFNY Documentary Discussion on FOTMCast

Every quarter, we record FOTMCast, which is a very meta inside analysis of what transpired in the TMU (Toronto Mike Universe) the previous quarter. These episodes are very long, very dense, and as Lorne Honickman warns you at the onset, for realheads only.

On Friday, Cam Gordon and Tyler Campbell dropped by to record the FOTMCast for Q4 2025. Over 3.5 hours later, I stopped recording. That's a lot, even for a diehard FOTM.

We spent 20 minutes discussing the new CFNY: The Spirit of Radio documentary that's airing on TVO tomorrow, as the most recent episode of Toronto Mike'd featured a 90 minute conversation with Matt Schichter, the director of this documentary. I highly recommend this enlightening episode that really peels back the curtain on how nostalgia documentaries are made.

Since 3.5 hours is a lot to ask of anyone who isn't immersed in the TMU, I've excerpted the 20 minutes we spent talking about the CFNY documentary. Dive in below.

If you have any questions, leave a comment below or write me at mike@torontomike.com. And most importantly, enjoy the doc. I'll also be watching.

Sincerely,
An unofficial CFNY documentarian
