I'm not sure I'd ever been to Guelph before yesterday. We hopped on the 401 and make the drive to The Royal City to see Hawksley Workman perform at the Sonic Hall.
It was a great little venue and perfect for Hawk, who was spot-on. I was a little surprised to see chairs, however... I was kind of hoping to be able to stand near the front of the stage. But regardless of that mild critique, it was a fab night night and we even got to hang with Hawksley during the intermission. Yes, there was an intermission.
After the show, I went to the stage and picked up the setlist. I really just wanted to read it, and take a picture. A Hawk superfan had been waiting by the stage and she chastised me for taking it without asking the artist for it. I asked her for her name, and was told it was Megan. Then, I promptly got Hawk to autograph it for her.
She tells me she's getting it framed.
