Firstly, right off the bat of Babe Ruth when he was with the Providence Grays hitting his first professional home run against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Hanlon's Point in 1914, the photo above was taken by yours truly last night. It's not AI, it's not stolen from Google Images, there's no filter... just me snapping a pic on my phone. We were returning to Captain John's Pier at the foot of One Yonge Street after a fantastic walking tour of Toronto Island with Warren Hoselton.
It's called Warren's Walk About Tour and you can learn more at https://www.torontoislanddiscoverytours.ca/. Warren would be better known to Toronto Mike'd listeners by his alter ego's name: Professor Pricklethorn.
Warren spent 23 years as a Park Supervisor for Toronto Island and he knows Toronto Island. He also knows my oldest daughter, who was a camp counsellor on Toronto Island for years.

It was a great boat ride, wonderful walk, and plenty of #funfacts from our fearless leader. It was a fabulous way to spend a beautiful Friday night in the city.

Here's a pic of everyone on the tour.

And while I'm writing about the Toronto Island Discovery Tour, I'd like to factcheck yesterday's Toronto Mike'd guest, urban wildlife photographer Andrew Budziak, and myself, for suggesting there wasn't a plaque at the foot of One Yonge commemorating Captain John's. There absolutely is, in fact, they named the pier Captain John's Pier and the boat's anchor is memorialized there.
