Thanks to FOTM Scot Turner I learned Nirvana's first Toronto show, an Elliott Lefko promotion at Lee's Palace, took place on April 16, 1990. That was 35 years ago today in their Bleach pre-Grohl era. Tickets were $5.
A few notes off the lid before I start the live stream for #TOAST.
- Elliott Lefko continues to be a desired Toronto Mike'd guest, and although he listens and enjoys the podcast, he doesn't seem interested in a recorded chat with me about his career in music promotion. He remains, however, a brother-of-an-FOTM.
- The previous show is The Doughboys, from which we get Rusty. Shout out to FOTM Scotty Mac.
- The next show is Popular Front, from which we get Lowest of the Low.
I was 15, and obviously missed this entire week at Lee's Palace, but wow...
