How Consuming Cannabis is Helping Canadians get through The Pandemic?

Very few people on the planet have enjoyed the pandemic. For many, our lives have been turned upside down with schools closed, many businesses financially ruined, alarming rates of unemployment, and hospitals full to the brim. People have struggled financially, mentally and physically during the pandemic.

Being locked up every day inside our homes has taken its toll on many of us. Even when we leave the house, having to wear a mask and abide by the social distancing regulations put in place in most businesses and public places can be frustrating. It is no wonder why the sale of legal marijuana has helped people enjoy their lives while being stuck at home.

Promoting the idea of not leaving your house and having to avoid people outside your household has not been an easy sale. Experts have been warning us for over one year now about the dangers of mixing with others, due to the disease being highly contagious and deadly. Although the sale of cannabis is legal in Canada, advocates have been calling for the substance to be legal all over the world not just for medical purposes, but for recreational use as well.

There are lots of cannabis dispensaries in Canada including the Canna Cabana Yonge Street.

Helping with Anxiety

For many years, people have been treating anxiety with cannabis products. During the pandemic, Canada has seen an increase in the number of people suffering from mental health issues, and anxiety is a common problem.

Although marijuana can cause anxiety, especially amongst frequent users who have given up using the substance, many others feel that it helps ease their feelings of anxiety. Others believe it depends on the type of strain that is used, while some claim that Indica works better, but there are also others who believe Sativa suits them.

Some people who suffer from anxiety say it depends on the method they use. Many feel that ingesting THC inside edibles helps soothe feelings of anxiety. Although others don’t use THC products to treat their condition, some believe that CBD products can be much more effective.

Without the sale of cannabis products, people would go on with their daily lives during the pandemic suffering. Anxiety is linked with depression, and a recent survey that was carried out by The Canadian Mental Health Association shows that 1 in 10 Canadians contemplated taking their own lives during the pandemic.

Canadians Can Order from Home

With experts advising us to stay indoors and only go outdoors for essential items, many opted not to go to their local dispensary, but to order from the comfort of their own home instead.

Plenty of Canadians use cannabis products to help them treat serious illnesses. Often these people are in the high-risk category when it comes to the Coronavirus, and if they were to contract the deadly virus, they might end up in critical condition. Although most reputable dispensaries adhere to strict Covid-19 regulations, the risk of contracting the virus is not worth it. Luckily for them, there is a long list of online cannabis stores that deliver marijuana products to your home. So, if you want to have weed delivery in Ontario, all you have to do is find a website that delivers in your area. Some of these online dispensaries will deliver cannabis products at your door on the same day you order them.

Helps Canadians with Boredom

Looking back on it, there are many people who worked hard and had a very busy lifestyle that having a day inside your home, doing nothing in particular seemed like a great idea. However, after a year of doing the same thing daily, many people are extremely bored.

Canadians are known around the world for being sociable and friendly people. Many feel that communicating with others through social media platforms is just not the same as meeting with friends and family members in person. They are also well known for being involved with contact sport, and with most training sessions and practice games postponed during the pandemic, lots of people found themselves with nothing to do in their own homes.

To avoid boredom spiraling out of control, many Canadians have increased the amount of cannabis they have been consuming. In fact, a study shows that approximately 52% of Canadians increased the amount of cannabis they normally consumed during the first wave of the pandemic. Although experts expected the figures to rise, many are surprised by the huge increase.

People Worrying about Personal Finances

With the world’s economy getting hit extremely badly during the pandemic, Canada had its fair share of job losses. Some provinces were hit much harder than others. In some areas, like Alberta for example, the premier predicted that 25 percent of people might be without work.

Worrying about money, especially if you had a solid job which you were working in for many years and all of a sudden you have been made redundant is a tough one to take. Trying to figure out how you will pay for the mortgage, how you were going to afford college and school fees for your family members, and how you are going to put food on the table can prove extremely challenging. To lift the mood many people use marijuana. Many believe it can free their mind for a while, allowing them to forget about all the issues in life, even just for a while.

Helping People get a Good Night Sleep

A recent survey showed that around 40% of Canadians suffer from sleep disorders. Dr. Charles Morin from the Universite Laval surveyed 2,000 in an attempt to portrait Canadian’s sleeping patterns. Around 20% of the people who took part in the study said they were not happy with their quality of sleep, while 13% of participants showed symptoms of insomnia.

For many of us, the pandemic has made our quality of sleep much worse. Before the pandemic, many of us had a daily routine: get up, commute to work, go to the gym, come home and cook dinner, watch some television and go to bed. Nowadays, many feel it's hard to keep track of the day and the time, especially if they have lost their jobs. Lots of people’s sleep pattern has completely changed. So, to help battle this issue, people have been consuming cannabis.

Cannabis made from an Indica plant can help a person feel sleepy. Many people, especially those who suffer from insomnia use the substance to help them have a good night's sleep. Just like eating, having proper sleep each night is important when trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle. If you want to go to sleep, many experts advise avoiding using cannabis grown with the Indica plant. The Sativa strain is known to make you feel energetic.

Summary

Although the pandemic has been hard for many of us to deal with, there is light at the end of the tunnel due to the vaccine rollout. Although it is hard to see things going back to normal in the upcoming months, things are looking much more positive. It will be interesting to see how Canadians will adapt when things do eventually go back to normal, and will the amount of cannabis consumed decrease?
