New Year Resolution Ideas That Are Definitely Worth Giving a Try

With the new year comes many of us making resolutions that we promise to keep. However, most are likely to agree that resolutions can start great but quickly become forgotten. Instead of making unrealistic commitments and promises, start the new year by getting a clear mind from a clean space.

Get a fresh start to the new year by removing clutter from your life! In other words, it’s time to pick a resolution that will have an impact making it worth sticking to. Start your year with feeling accomplished by trying some or all of these great resolution ideas.

Purge, Purge, Purge Your Junk!

The easiest way to start the year with a clear mind is by cleaning out all the junk and unused items from your living space. That means clearing junk from the inside out! Avoid overdoing it and not seeing this resolution through by starting with one area at a time.

Focus on purging the junk and clutter from around your house into two different piles, trash and gently used items for donations. Some areas to target for your purge around home are:

  • Kitchen and bathroom counters
  • Tabletops
  • Kitchen cabinets and pantry
  • Hallway and bedroom closets
  • Shelves and bookcases
  • Dresser drawers
  • Basement, attic and crawl space
  • Garage and storage sheds

Taking back your space from trash and clutter is a resolution guaranteed to give a fresh start to the year.

Sell Scrap Metal for Money

Wait before you toss away any old scrap metal or electronic junk gathered during your clutter purge. There is a chance you can turn that trash into cold hard cash! Do something profitable for yourself that’s good for the planet by recycling old metal junk properly at a scrap yard in Toronto.

What better way is there to start the new year than with some extra cash in your pocket? Some recyclable metal items to add to your profit pile are:

  • Microwaves, refrigerators and appliances
  • Aluminum pots and pans
  • Brass faucets
  • Copper pipes or wiring
  • Computers, printers or scanners
  • Cameras and cell phones
  • Televisions and DVD players

Consider selling scrap metal and old electronics as a resolution to properly recycle. Making a profit is just a great bonus!

Give Your Home a Deep Clean

Now that all the junk should be cleared out from your home it’s time for a nice deep cleaning to start the year fresh and squeaky clean. Sure, this is a less fun resolution but it’s certainly one we should all give a try. The best way to get started is to make a playlist of songs to get you going and use cleaning tips to help make doing the job easier and get the cleaning done right.

Get Organized

Last but not least, make a resolution to help take on this new year as productively as possible. Ensure having a clean space will come with a clear mind by using organization tips to make sure there is a place for everything and that everything is in its place.

All that’s left to do is try a resolution and stick to it!
