Andy Frost is Leaving Q107

Last week, when I learned Al Joynes had been let go by Corus, I also heard Andy Frost was presented with a similar folder. Andy, however, was given something rather rare in radio. He would be allowed to say goodbye to the Q107 listenership on-air.

I decided not to write about Andy leaving the station, but earlier today, during episode 321 of Toronto Mike'd, Al Joynes let the cat out of the bag. Andy Frost is leaving Q107.

If you'd like to hear Andy and me discuss his lengthy career at Q107, I urge you to listen to episode 291. Andy first arrived at Q107 in the mid-80s and is now best known as host of Psychedelic Psunday.

Andy Frost and me

Andy's been a fixture on this city's airwaves for over three decades. Without a doubt, he'll be missed.

Sorry about Mr. Frost - there's goes Psych Sundays. And me too.

Excuse my language but WTF is Q107 doing? Their best 2 DJ's are gone even though Andy has another short time.
Only DJ's left of significance are John Scholes & Joanne Wilder. The rest can be put of to rest including Derringer as his time is up but signed a lucrative contract a couple of years ago. My preset in the car for Q107 is off now. No clue where to go with songs & artists.
WHAT A FUCKING MISTAKE Loser Q - start playing songs from the 50-60's. I did it MY WAY.

We're officially giving a "no comment" to John Scholes.

Sad news, but I'm not surprised. When you interviewed Andy, he was very guarded in his comments about Q. I got the feeling he was concerned about his job security.

I can’t bekieve this. Andy is an institution in Toronto Radio. I’m waiting for a new format change can’t believe the invisible pricks at Corus. But then again Bell media is the very same at the executive level. Gone are the days when being loyal meant something and really in any industry. Very very sad times we live in. All the best Andy we love you buddy!! Head up high always. A class act.

Andy always appreciated his listeners, and 14 or 15 years ago Andy made my sons day by giving him a shout out on one of his psychedelic Sunday shows.
Going to miss that distinctive voice.

So sorry to hear this news. I was wondering what was happening with Andy as he reduced his presence on air. I knew Andy wouldn't be around forever and there will be a time he no longer is heard in Toronto. Still, it sounds likd there is more to this. Things are a changing at Q. Hoping it is for the better.
All the best to Andy and family... Enjoy your post-Q107 life friend.

This is terrible news and a further example of an experienced voice in radio being unceremoniously dumped to make way for some "new blood". I met Andy frost. He is a great guy and I will miss his presence on the air.

April 4, 2018 @ 12:06 PM

Well that's that Q107.1 was bad and now ts offical it's just horrible. Good thing for Pat Porter and 91.7 where they still know how to RnR 8n the free world.

April 4, 2018 @ 2:58 PM

fuckno! Andy is the best, hands down. Miss him at the ACC too. All the best to you Andy whatever you decide lies ahead.
Q107 is just about unlistenable now. its a shame.

April 4, 2018 @ 4:14 PM

The mighty Q is no longer.
Their definition of classic rock is Africa by Toto!
Not to mention the five minute commercial breaks after two songs.
Found myself another classic rock station that actually plays classic rock.
Won’t miss you Q!

April 4, 2018 @ 4:39 PM

That really sucks man. Toronto is losing one of the most distinctive voices in rock, not to mention an encyclopedic knowledge of the genre. I feel they're making a huge mistake. Rock on Andy!

I don't know about the funeral-type language that goes into these threads. His massive run is worthy of celebration. It's not Andy that's dying, it's traditional media. Andy is very likely to turn up in another venue.

Wow, what a great loss for Q, very disappointed, the station is now run out of Vancouver by HITLER, micro managed, dictatorship .... it is pretty sad, use to be able to call in and have Q play what we "the Listeners" wanted to hear, now apparently Vancouver knows what we in Toronto want to listen too, same old shit over and over again. I don't doubt that Andy will be approached by companies that can appreciate such a dedicated, loyal individual with a VOICE that we will all remember. You know that old saying "you get what you pay for", well I will no longer be tuning into Q107, you have made a big mistake and I hope all of Andy's listeners do the same and tune out Q107. Andy, I wish you well and I know that you will be greatly missed and hoping that another Radio Station will approach you and appreciate your loyalty, SHAME ON YOU Q107.1, you have made a huge mistake...........

If by "New Blood" you mean kids with college debt being paid minimum wage to announce live to air... Then you're right. Andy Frost makes as much as 5 stations worth of "New Blood" makes.

Thank you for your voice and passion Andy! Get into podcasting and keep that voice with your listeners always

Andy Frost has been a staple, a world of knowledge in music stories. I listen to Q107.1 for Andy Frost Joanne Wilder , Al Joynes. They keep my memories fresh of my past with their music. I can't imagine listening to Q without them. I wish the best to them all.

Its the same shit on every station. Think the "payola" scheme has secretly come back cuz how do you explain the same shitty songs being played over & over on the radio. The world is full of music but yet u hear the same stuff.

These millenials dont know what good music sounds like. Even the sounds from the 50's are superior to todays crap. 1 good thing about the internet is u can find that stuff.

& speaking of Q107 why wasnt Valentyne let go. She brings nothing to the morning show but dribble.

I have listened to Q from the start, enjoyed the various on air personalities, music selection and have ALWAYS tuned in to hear Andy on Sundays. When Andy leaves on May, 27th I'll be tuning out. Corus has made some HUGE mistakes as of late, Al and Andy are the last straws for me. I hope all longtime Q listeners will voice their opinions and let Corus know how they feel. Andy, all the best and we all know that distinctive voice and wealth of music knowledge will be heard somewhere on the airwaves in the not to distant future. There are definitely better choices to let go at Q if this is, as we all know, about the all mighty dollar!!!!

Lee Marshall

I've know Andy a LONG time. I worked with his brother Rick in Winnipeg where Andy was simultaneously a significant part of the success of one of our competitors. [ie: CITI FM.] I was always happy to see how well Andy did here in the 'big smoke' and even though we never ever got to work together it mattered little. I pulled for him to do well in Toronto at every turn. His tenure with the Leafs was also a meaningful plume in his broadcasting cap.

To watch these giant media corps trundle along, and heartlessly so, as they trip, stumble and fall with increasingly less compelling programming is mind 'numbingly' off-putting. Loyalty is obviously a word which no longer applies in the broadcast 'biz'. The saddest thing is, as little as they care for the people who helped to make them the success stories they became, they care even less for the audience which collectively kept them upright and afloat over several decades.

The radio 'industry is so busy killing itself off they haven't even paused once to notice that many of the people they 'target' actually care. But no. You're not a person. You're not even people. You're just part of a 'demo'. They will not listen to you. So why spend so much as even 1 minute listening to them?

April 8, 2018 @ 9:54 PM

That's big data at work. It's all numbers and algorithms, no context.

Back in the day, they'd leave the numbers (I think it was 'focus groups' & raw listener numbers then) to the weekdays. One or two DJs would be able to do their own thing overnight, or on weekends.

If they managed to carve out a niche, or break new artists they were given more leeway.

You'll never see a Martin Streek or even Sir John Peel now.

April 9, 2018 @ 2:41 AM

I know that I'm probably in the minority with the following opinion (yet again!!), but the dismissal
of Al Joynes disturbs me a lot more than Andy Frost's concurrent job loss. Aside from patches of
Psychedelic Sunday, he sounds like he's been phoning it in for years!! Hell, sometimes if not for
contests/giveaways, it's probably safe to assume that a number of his shifts were taped well in
advance!! That might be the wave of the future but it doesn't necessarily make for the best radio
listening experience!! Also, I agree with others who have opined that it might be well overdue for John
Derringer to walk the plank as well, as his act/shtick grew tired eons ago!! As well, with comparable
periods of service to the station, Al also deserved a proper on-air goodbye to the Q 'Listenership'.
Funny how Mr. Frost is on the receiving end of such a long goodbye period!

April 9, 2018 @ 2:02 PM

Bindair Dundatt

Re Walleye: ''an encyclopedic knowledge of the genre"? Only what he read off of the cue cards written by his producers. I caught him out on an egregious John Lennon mistake one day and he lost it on me while admitting to that fact. I may still have the multi-part email battle kicking around but there's no point in dissing the dearly departing. He was a "voice" alright which has forever been his meal ticket; no nous or actual love of music required.

Re B. Watt: Vancouver hasn't been calling the shots since WIC was split up and Corus (based in Toronto) grabbed Q in 2000; just thought I'd mention it.

April 10, 2018 @ 12:56 PM

I would think hiring "new blood" is only about cutting expenses. Music radio stations know there's no hope of attracting a new audience of younger listeners (any more than the phone companies would hope to attract new younger land line users). The best they can do is trying to hang on to as many of the old listeners for as long as they can, but I would assume the declining ad revenue means it's unavoidable that the more highly paid on-air people will be let go.

I strongly suggest everyone look up the term "voice-tracking".

Voice-tracking is coming to Q107.

April 10, 2018 @ 2:16 PM

Voice-tracking sucks..., well, you know the rest!! Back before 1050 Chum went off the air permanently
they voicetracked their overnight shifts, and the most hilarious part was the incorrect, out-of-sync
time clock!! Announced times would often be off by at least a half hour or more. Hopefully such
amateur mistakes have subsequently been corrected. It would seem so, as I'm pretty sure that Mr. Frost's 8 to 10 shifts were all Memorexed in advance!!

April 10, 2018 @ 2:22 PM

Lori Kalemkerian

My days of listening to Q107 are over. I have grown increasingly annoyed at the play list since they added the "newer" music to their rotation. They play the same tired old songs over and over again. The announcers, all except John Scholes and Andy Frost, are annoying and inane. I cant stand Derringers show anymore. Sometimes the conversation is like a high school locker room. That is not what I want to listen to. The only time I really looked forward to listening was Saturdays and Sundays when Al and Andy were on. The guy they have on in place of Al is awful. His voice is grating and I have no idea what he is talking about sometimes. I have a large collection of LP's, CD's and even cassettes so I will be starting to play them more instead of listening to Q107. I am also a fan of classical music so I will be tuning into Classical FM (CFMX) for my rides in the car and when I need to have the radio on. Its sad that the owners of Q107 messed with a good thing and ruined a station that offered something different. I love Psychedelic Psundays and will miss it. RIP Q107.

May 12, 2018 @ 9:46 AM

Toronto Mike Verified as the defacto Toronto Mike

When Al Joynes was over talking about getting let go by Q107, he mentioned Andy Frost was also let go, although Andy is getting to say goodbye. When I asked Al about John Scholes, Al said "he couldn't comment on that right now" so clearly things were being negotiated and all was not well for John at Q.

It's safe to say John is part of this restructuring that got Al and Andy and it's likely all part of a Q107 restructuring that will result in more voice tracking. Heck, the last live voices might be John Derringer's show and Joanne Wilder. We could possibly see one of those shows in the morning and another in the afternoon drive and everything else voice tracked, but that's just a guess on my part.

We'll soon see. Regardless, John did not leave Q because he wanted to leave Q. He was told to leave after 19 years.

May 12, 2018 @ 9:55 AM

Goodbye (not-so-mighty) Q. I've been listening to you for more years than I can remember - for the classic rock that I couldn't find on other stations, and for the great radio personalities. But you no longer play the classic rock I love except on Sundays and soon that will disappear, too. And worse yet, you're letting go (let's get real - you're FIRING) some of the best DJs and broadcasters in the business. I think you've lost your way, perhaps misled by the promise of $$$. Maybe you've had a complete meltdown? Who knows. In any case, I will not be around to see you slip into oblivion, just another mediocre station in radio's homogenization.

Best wishes to Al, Andy, John. Thanks for the wonderful memories -- maybe we'll meet up again on some forward-thinking stations. I hope so.

May 12, 2018 @ 10:39 AM

So sad to hear Andy is leaving the (no longer) mighty Q. :( No reason to listen anymore.. Everyone I've met is now gone...

May 12, 2018 @ 12:21 PM

Has anyone actually considered maybe they're making these changes because Q107 simply has no future? It is a business after all and has to sell advertising to pay the bills. Playing 50 year old classic rock just doesn't have a future. Oldies radio started dying 10 years ago, up next it's classic rock. And while younger listeners are cool with Aerosmith, Duran Duran and Soundgarden, older listeners are not. It's like someone added PINEAPPLE to their pizza (dear God).

@Andrew: Icon's are icon's. Jazz music was once the predominate form of music for youth. It was replaced by rock music. Now beat music has replaced it. The "icon's" come and go. No one is denying what Andy Frost did for music just that what he did for music is past. Just like what David Marsden did for music is also in the past. You're an icon for your ERA..not forever unless you did something for humans rights or humanity.

Maybe we need "Glory Days" as the bumper music. A stroll n the past is fine, living there is not.

May 12, 2018 @ 9:44 PM

Javed Jafri

I don't subscribe to David Marsden's NY Spirit b/c it's a pay stream but I do check out the playlist and he plays new music and old and it's multi genre. The best free form stations during their prime were playing classical music composed 200 years ago, blues, folk and jazz that was 60 years old and the best in off the beaten path rock along with some well known cuts. The stations sustained themselves by creating a niche audience that was not mass or mainstream. People did listen to the wide variety. The example I like to use is WBCN FM in Boston. You could walk down the street in the summer and hear the station blasting from all corners - cars, houses and shops and you did not need a radio. There were enough music freaks to almost make it mainstream.

May 13, 2018 @ 12:26 PM

Might be time to subscribe to NY Spirit because I'm feeling like I'm falling behind on new music again.

May 13, 2018 @ 12:40 PM

Javed Jafri

and to bring it back to Andy Frost. The thing about the era he covers is that it the popular music of the day was in fact multi genre. A group like Buffalo Springfield contained elements of folk, country, Latin and Jazz as did much of the best music of the day. Their were also elements of east Indian music, Afro and lots of R & B. A group like Wilco is continuing that tradition today to a certain extent.

Andy's playlist recently has expanded and you do hear more variety on the show than just the tired old tunes.

May 13, 2018 @ 1:12 PM

I respect what David Marsden did in radio but as far as innovation in radio and music goes he's not even on the radar. I have no issue with him creating NY The Spirit and making it a successful entity. Good for him. It's just he's *not* some new innovator or anything. He's not Zane Lowe at Beats 1.

Q107 is a business and it needs to stay in business to keep going. Classic rock is 50 years old. There are no new comers to the take & the audience is all over 50. The reality is the reality. There is simply no real future for that format and Corus knows it needs to change that. It doesn't diminish what these announcers did. It's just about change. I'm in the tech field (hacking). I keep my skills up to date and I understand Amazon Web Services and Azure because it's Cloud computing and that''s tomorrow. I don't sit back and say "I will only learn the Windows 2008 Server role model because that's how it should be. Because that was better. Music is ever changing just like technology.

Q107 is long in the tooth. It needs a makeover. I'm not sure what that looks like but it has to happen.

May 13, 2018 @ 10:36 PM

Javed Jafri

I was always bored by most of what is now considered classic rock. Corporate, arena rock, tired and formulaic. That's is what mainstream rock had turned into starting around 1975. Punk and New Wave brought things back to life but the mainstream remained mundane and that mainstream is mundane today regardless of format. That is the only option we have on commercial terrestrial radio. Granted that in some ways the options are better then ever due to the internet but not on terrestrial radio.

I will say it again genre does not matter there is creativity in new and all different types of music but it does not get exposed. DJ's like David Marsden, Reiner Schwarz, David Pritchard , The Live Earl Jive and others were personalities that exposed people to a wide variety of music while adding their own touch to the broadcasts. They educated people to have open minds. Not just music but there was also poetry, spoken word and comedy. Nothing like the comedy of The Fiersign Theatre is heard on commercial radio anymore. The announcers brought in the audience with their unique personalities and exposed them to innovation and creativity by mixing the experimental with the familiar. The element of surprise.

May 14, 2018 @ 12:42 PM

Have posted this before, but regardless of trends, economics and all the other intangibles, Q107
has done an awful job of honouring its classic rock legacy for quite a few years now. Probably
wouldn't make a big enough difference if they tried to right that particular ship at this point,
but it also couldn't hurt. Cannot really understand: Why has Mr. Frost been given such a long
goodbye?!? Psychedelic Psunday used to be a lot more adventurous and as others on here
have already posted, will probably disappear as soon as he does. It might just be best if the Q
underwent both name and format changes quite soon, as their current incarnation is beyond sad!!

Voice Tracking is already very much a thing at Q107 with the odious 'Willy On Q' (6pm-8pm Mon-Fri). Look for more and more of this robo-dj crap at Q in the not very distant future.
I've suspected some of Andy's shows (not many but a few) have been pre-taped.
I'll be sorry to see Andy go, because it'll mean I'm gone as well.
Q has been in decline for years, and their format tinkering a couple of years ago made things worse.
Their play list has shrunk to the same handful of songs by the same artists with zero surprises.
I only hung around for Psychedelic Sunday (which I've listened to since the mid-80s!).
The morning show is horribly boring. Wilder is okay, but has become very predictable.
Bye Q. It's been a blast - since day 1.

Good luck to you, Andy, we're going to miss you!

May 24, 2018 @ 11:33 AM

I understand that the Q is a business; that they need to attract younger listeners; that we lovers of classic rock are aging and that in time, classic rock will disappear from normal radio. Having said that, it is a bloody shame that the really good announcers (Andy, Al and John) are being turfed out. There was a time that people chose their radio stations based on the announcers. Sadly no more. To Andy, Al and John, thank you for countless hours of entertainment. Me? I will be listening more and more to Sirius in the car and my records, cds and tapes of MY music at home - and if there is an attachment to allow a Discman to play thru a car's speakers ...

Psychadelic Psunday was the best day for music in my life. I've listened to it for decades. How in the world did Corus decide to let Andy Frost go is beyond comprehension. They'll definitely lose a lot of listeners, I'm one of them!

As I understand it, May 27th will be the final Psychedelic Sunday as well as Andy Frost's last broadcast on Q107.
It will also mark the end for me as a listener. Sunday afternoon with Q was the last thing keeping me there.
BTW, I've been listening to Q since Day 1. I guess I don't fit into their target demographic anymore and haven't for a very long time.
I have said for quite some time now that once Psycho Sunday and Andy are gone, so am I.
So be it.
Watch for a massive format change at some point in the future.
And if I were Ms Wilder, I'd be dusting of my resume.
I'm guessing there will be no DJ after 8PM weekdays and who cares what they do Sundays now.
Jeff Woods' pre-recorded one hour Sunday night show will get axed too.
Anyway thanks a million Andy. It's been a blast.
You will be missed. By many!

Well i just found out about this. I was wondering why Q107 was playing such shit. Duran Duran really, they never played that shit when it was new but some how they need to play it in 2018. I have listened to the (not so mighty) Q since 1978 as a 12 year old through to adulthood loyally and never thought it would ever come to this, crappy wimpy music (Chum FM) and now firing Andy Frost and the end of Psych Sundays. Lately when Q107 plays it new crap i have been turning to other stations or out and out turning off the radio. Thank god i still have my old records and CD's. Now after 30 years of the Q for me and no Psych Sunday or Andy Frost, i guess it's time to turn off the Q forever 'cause i can't stand to see something i loved die such a terrible death.

Rest in Peace Q107, i loved you like a best friend, thanks for all the memories growing up. Power button off.

Sad that such strong personalities have been made redundant. All the best to Andy and Al. You are and will ve missed. The Q will become the station I used to listen to. Too bad really.

May 24, 2018 @ 8:11 PM

so long Andy, you were the only reason I still listened to Q. Really going to miss Psychedelic Sunday and your wealth of knowledge of the music from that era.

David Dalton

Can't believe all the changes happening at the Q. I have been an avid listener since it first went on air back in the day, listening to it at GM, at home, in the car. Don't listen so much now, Derringer and Jo in the mornings. Not a big fan of the new afternoon DJ. Looking for an alternate station, sometimes 96 out of Peterborough. On to CDs and my IPOD I guess. SO sad.

May 24, 2018 @ 9:49 PM

Kevin Strutt

So sad. Pshycadelic Sunday has been a highlight of my week for so many years.

May 24, 2018 @ 10:28 PM

Un f ing believable. Most of the comments already posted say it all. But Andy really?????

I was born in the 50's in San Francisco California, Andy's show (Sunday) is one of the things I live for, I kick out the wife and kids and ask the world to leave me alone with Andy and his show... YES, I SAID ANDY'S SHOW, not the radio stations. This move will truly hurt the owners of the station, MGT should be ashamed of themselves. If I ever get the chance to see in person one or more of the top (suits) I will give them a piece of my mind, OMG as I am typing this I am still in shock, what the hell are they thinking? I am sure me and TEN THOUSAND other folks will go out of our way to let Andy know how much he is loved.
I actually had the extreme pleasure of meeting Andy at a Low's store event in Maple where he was broadcasting in person, what a guy.......

This coming Sunday will be right up there with some of the most traumatic events in my life.

May 25, 2018 @ 7:18 AM

I moved to Toronto in '84 and liked Q107 radio station and Andy's Psychedelic show on Sunday.
I even battled my future wife over what radio station to list too. It's sad to see those people go.
Does anyone know if Andy, Al, and John have another gig on the airwave in Toronto?

Not yet for Al.

John is literally visiting my home in three hours, so I'll definitely ask him that question.

Andy hasn't finished his last episode on Q107, so there's no news on that front yet.

May 25, 2018 @ 9:40 AM

kieran hassey

Now corporate Chorus radio has dismissed a Q107 icon and a staple in Sunday radio
Your radio station has turned not for the good but for the worse

I saw this coming the second the Q was bought by big business and they turfed out Kim Mitchell.

Another Toronto Landmark steam rolled and flatten for greed
And you have the nerve to use a slogan “greatest music on earth”, Maybe so but your not playing it.

Shame on you.
My radio station is 95rock Barrie.
Your new radio hosts have no personality and the 80,s garbage was not considered Q material back then and it should remain that way.

All the best Andy you were the only reason I was staying on Q

I just heard !!....Sunday’s will never be the same !!!

Thanks Andy. !!! For ALL the memories !!!...You will be missed !!

May 25, 2018 @ 12:04 PM

Hi Andy,
I just heard that Sunday will be your last show on Q107. It will be the last time I listen to Q107. I have listened to your show for years and absolutely loved it. I loved to listen to you and to garden at the same time. That combo was awesome. You are the only reason I listen to Q107 since they changed their programming to include Duran Duran etc. I preferred the old Q107 that played Classic Rock.
I want to thank you for so many great Sunday afternoons listening to Psychedelic Psunday. I will miss you and your show so much. I wish you all the best.
Sincerely, Claire in Dundas Ontario.
PS Please get a gig with a better radio station and keep Psychedelic Sunday alive.

May 25, 2018 @ 12:09 PM

Actually Q107 played much of that "80's garbage" back in the day. You can find old playlists of the station online. They played new wave music and lots of Canadian acts like Platinum Blonde.

Check this link.

It's an aircheck from 1986 and the DJ comes off Simple Minds, one of those 80's "garbage" bands. They played stuff like Life in a Northern Town & crossed over with many bands CFNY was spinning at the time.

Only later would the station become Classic Rock, narrow it's playlist and forget most of it's past. That's the Q you remember.

May 25, 2018 @ 12:46 PM

John Sebastian

Q started going homo a while back.
They’re just following the rest of the media down the bottomless pit of mung - which is being the ra ra department of the post modernist / globalization cult hypocrites exponentially squared zealots.

Weasel squeazing out of Kim Mitchell while he was recovering from an illness, and now of course Al Joynes and Andy Frost. If Derringer had any self respect he would remove himself from Q’s version of The View. Be a man buddy!
Rather than just play the music, Wilder, news guy (sorry person) Jamie Towheel ( sorry for the spelling as I didn’t want to help Q’s SEO and google - the doomsday machine ) along with the newer guy on either late day or early evening actually think listeners care about their political opinions...
Anyway that’s why Sirius has become my music provider of late.
Shut up and play the music stupido.

Haven't listened to the radio MUCH lately, but was stunned to hear this week Andy is leaving. He's been such a huge, memorable part of my life for decades, spinning the greatest pop/rock songs written...something that I fear will go unheralded as the boomers fade into the sunset. Thank you Andy for carrying the flag for so long!

Q has been going down hill for awhile , classic rock my ass, more like classic crap. I found 91.7 fm real classic rock, with Kristy Knight, ( K K ) remember her for the Q107 glory days. Good bye Q and good luck Mr. Frost

May 25, 2018 @ 2:53 PM

Still holding out hope that the Unmighty IQ of 7 switches to an all-lute Renaissance music format!!
Specifically the breathtaking oeuvre of one john Downland, a personal favourite of one Gordon
Sumner, a.k.a, Sting!! Or perhaps Psych Sunday can be placed with Madchester Sundaze!!

May 25, 2018 @ 3:15 PM

Above comment should have read as 'replaced', most obviously!!

May 25, 2018 @ 3:48 PM

Frost leaving; big deal, I left a long time ago. Andy thinks he's the cats ass of Classic Rock, yet he's not. He is in my opinion however a narcissistic, pretentious, know-it-all. When I asked him to correct some comments he made on air that were incorrect; (one that comes to mind is when he said The Doors last LP was LA Woman) I reminded him that Ray Manzarek and the boys came out with The Doors Other Voices after LA Woman. His response was a simple, no one cares, goodbye. Well now my turn, GOODBYE, don't let Pagliaro hit you on the way out.

May 25, 2018 @ 5:03 PM

Well put and nice name-checking of Pagliaro, BTW!! And perhaps he can take all that '80s pop
crap with him!!

The music of my youth, and the anthems for my kids musical history. As I listened to Andy while I cleaned and did household chores...on a Sunday. Who's going to give me that now?
Thank you Andy, no one has your rare voice...and your grasp on listeners. Retire, call a few Leaf games, and smell the left your mark, and we are better for the 'experience'

May 25, 2018 @ 6:44 PM

"an all-lute Renaissance music format" ?
Ritchie Blackmore (of Deep Purple and Rainbow fame) might survive the format change.

Q107 was such a revelation when started up. The last few years have been horrible except for Psychedelic Sundays...I love Goodbye Stranger and Give a Little Bit but it has been pathetic hearing the same few songs by the same few groups over and over when there is so much great unplayed music. I believe the word is STALE. Thank you Andy Frost for making FM rock listenable.

May 25, 2018 @ 9:14 PM

Love you Andy! A smarter, better station will snap you up!

May 26, 2018 @ 1:47 AM

I remember back in 2007 when Led Zeppelin did their last concert together in honor of Ahmet Ertegun and the Q announced that they were the home of Zeppelin , always have been, always will be......... well so much for that. Sad.

By the way, yes Q107 did play some of that wimpy 80's garbage when it was new in the 80's but never and i repeat never did they play that shit Duran Duran. I know 'cause i was there with radio on all through the 80's.

The whole affair sucks. I feel like a good friend or family member is about to die. Love ya Andy Frost. Sorry Q107 that you have been destroyed my your owners but i will be done with you when Andy signs off the air on Sunday.

Don't get all this sorrow being spewed. Frost and some other Corus radio hosts are too full of themselves. You're not the stars, you are the messengers, stop acting like you are the Rock Star, either that or learn to play a guitar. The radio personalities of today should take a page from the late great Pete Griffin, and stay a little humble!

May 26, 2018 @ 10:57 AM

Dear Andy Frost,
A most heartfelt message of gratitude to you for the many gifts of pleasure you have provided over the years.
I have often marveled at what a truly humble human you are. How knowledgeable and giving you have been to us, your loyal listeners. I have learned so much!
I will listen for your voice elsewhere, as I know there is some company who will jump at the opportunity to have you on their airwaves.
You deserve better... much better. This door is closing so that a better one can open. Sending you love and strength.

May 26, 2018 @ 12:27 PM

Sad news... sad news Indeed! All good things come to an end and Andy leaving the Q will go down as another "where were you when you heard the news"! For me Andy was the essence of class and classic rock! Never thought the Q would Jump the Shark. But the signs were there when they replaced Kim with Auntie Moe...what a JOKE! AND NOW THIS!!!! To ANDY...wish you all the best buddy!!!!! Cheers, Ron

May 26, 2018 @ 2:17 PM

What a mistake! First, Andy is no longer the voice of the Leafs at the ACC ( his replacement sucks!), now this...Unbelievable. First listened to Andy during the first few years of 92CITI FM in Winnipeg. He was Great then. He is Fantastic now! This "radio station" appears to have its head up its rear end. It will crash. Good riddance!
Andy, it has Always been a pleasure to listen to the music you spin (AlwYs a great mix!), ans the info you share (always interesting).
Here's to your next endeavour. May it be FABulous! You Deserve it!
Please keep us posted!

Always believed that hero worship should be reserved for the truly worthy, but to each their own,
I guess!! Looking forward to hearing some of those tearful goodbye messages tomorrow afternoon:
NOT!! Time for the station to concede defeat and rebuild as a completely different entity: Q10Enya!!
Imagine all the tranquility and solace such a format would bring to the chaos and construction of a
busy city like Toronto!!

I am still stunned by the announcement that Andy is leaving and Psyc Sunday will be ending tomorrow. Listening to Andy earlier today on his last Saturday, left me with a very sad and empty feeling inside.....and like I am losing a close friend........

Andy - Thank you Sir, for the hundreds and hundreds of hours I have enjoyed listening to your show over the decades. It has been a wonderful ride! I wish you all the best in the future and I hope to hear your voice on the airwaves again!

To Corus...WTF are you people doing?........systematically destroying what was once great radio in Toronto....thats what you are doing........ Some of the previous posts discuss rock and classic rock dying. Its stupid dumb-ass moves like this that help to speed that death along.

What Corus should be doing is firing the over-priced upper mgmmt and consultants and investing those funds into programs to help get the younger generation interested in great music. I have a 15yr old son who loves rock & classic rock. I introduced him to it and we enjoy listening to the music together and the conversations that stem from the music.

Great music inspires PASSION in the soul!! On Toronto airwaves, tomorrow after Andy signs off for the final time and a GREAT program comes to a tragic end......the once awesome station at the end of the dial will take yet another great big leap further into the musical shitter..........

Thank god for my vinyl, CD's & ipod.........

Whats next Q......The Kenny G musical hour???.............

May 26, 2018 @ 10:09 PM

I have been a listener since day 1 but Q lost me a few years ago. I understand the need to cater to a younger demographic but the crap they have been playing has turned me off. The only time I listen is Sunday from noon to six. Psychedelic Sunday with Andy Frost is the only time slot that is worth listening to. John Scholes, Al Jones and Andy Frost are the absolute best and I hope to hear you soon on another radio station in the Toronto area.
I gave a suggestion for Psych Sunday. May 2-4 weekend to Labour Day weekend. Don't even care if it's prerecorded. I gives you some great music to listen to while stuck in traffic coming back from the cottage.

May 27, 2018 @ 12:17 AM

Sad that the evil masters of the former mighty Q (Corus scum) are doing this to this once very cool radio station. Here's what i have heard through the grape vine (in this case, the rape vine) soon after this Sunday whoever does not have a juicy contract already signed, will be canned. Replaced with really nothing but dead empty pre-taped talking heads and still worse a complete format change, more top 40 gag music. Think Chum FM with Zeppelin, Floyd, Stones etc etc etc all but a distant memory. Hope you all like Drake, with classics by Madonna and (already) Duran Duran. Not to sure if the station will be given a new name. Maybe Q Shit lite or something. Enjoy today and Andy Frost, maybe tape it as a great memory of a once great station.

For me, Andy's last day will be my last day. Will miss the (former) Mighty Q. Rest in Peace.

I have taped and uploaded a lot of Q 107 content over the years. Put up an almost two hour slice of the show from 1992 a few years ago and have now made a compilation of the show over the 30 plus years featuring Andy Frost, Al Joynes and even a bit or Rory O Shea.

A tribute:

May 27, 2018 @ 7:56 AM

Marks yet another end of an era. Not sure why they have to mess with absolutely everything.
Will be the last Sunday morning I put Q on radio...

May 27, 2018 @ 9:40 AM

Larry Wood

If they've just tied a can to Andy for no other reason than to give the job to someone else, they can say goodbye to me, also. No, it's not a major kick in the head to them but if enough listeners follow suit, the radio station will react. All the best, Sir. I hope that you land firmly on your feet and do even better, perhaps at Boom 97.3 FM?

May 27, 2018 @ 10:06 AM

Sorry that Andy Frost is being pushed off air. Psychedelic Sunday has been a blessing. To hear an erudite, articulate and musically knowledgeable voice playing some great music from across the decades has been a real treat. So sorry ou are going. Best of luck with your future endeavours.

Good Q107 whoever is making decisions there has no clue at all. Other classic rock stations will be the beneficiaries. Corus are, obviously, brain dead. Sundays will never be the same - up north at the cottage on the dock with adult bevy and French cigarette, , Andy Frost and Sychedelic Sundays Perfect. It's not like the baby boomer listening group is dying tomorrow. Goodbye Q is now good riddance. No loyalty to the ones who pay the freight.

Andy, more so than anybody has kept the hippie movement alive and pulsating. I just turned 65, have long hair, wear a headband and give the peace sign on a regular basis. A fellow employee always returned the same. Just last week I said to this employee, I think you are ready for the hippie movement, he answered no, I do not think so. I said hold on one second, what about "free love"?, He answered with a very sad look on his face, Joe I am sorry, but there is no such thing as free love anymore. I thought about what he said, and he is right, everything has a price today, and with Andy now gone, true love has exited the wavelengths. Andy from my heart to your heart, peace, love, compassion. grace to all, these wavelengths will never end, they will vibrate forever, thanks to you and what you carried forward. V.

What a tremendous loss. My Sunday afternoons will not be the same as Psychedelic Sunday has been a fixture in my life for as long as I can remember. Andy, I hope you’d consider establishing Psychedelic Sunday as live to air via the web or some other format.
You’ll be missed.

And to the once mighty Q107, you’ve lost another listener.

I've never cried over something like "this" and I've just found myself bawling like a baby. You see, over the last 4 years there have been terrible changes in my life and having to move out of Toronto for Montreal was one of these. I literally have been being Kept Alive by the once a week PsychedelicPsunday and Andy, the classiest announcer in the biz. I was 16 yrs old when I first moved to Toronto. I was not Old. I should have been listening to Vanilla Ice and New Kids on The Block I guess but no, Psychedelic Psunday was on my little walkman radio as I explored Kensington Market and the rest of Toronto. Classical Music has been going on for hundreds of years, so please don't use that argument. There are classical music radio stations going on still... I'm going to really struggle. Maybe I have mental health issues but so be it. In life, you need at least ONE thing you can count on. I was dreading the day that Andy would RETIRE. Not be FIRED. And that maybe they'd keep the show on, in reruns or whatever. I made my life and dreams come true in Toronto, and Sunday Afternoons were the soundtrack to those accomplishments. At this point, I hope I find out if Andy gets into pirate internet radio and the show keeps going there, somewhere out online. I feel embarrassed that I am crying over this, literally. But there you go. I'm just glad I found out in time to hear this last one. UNBELIEVABLE move, Q107. GOODBYE.

Time has come today...

Thank you, Andy.

I was gutted when I heard the news of Andy's firing & the last Psychedelic Sunday. I was born in '83 so programs like this one and Edge 102 Live to Air @ Whiskey Saigon/Joe (retro 80s) were a musical education for me, as the music was released before I was born or at an age where I even listened to music. This program also got me through weekend shifts at a job I didn't enjoy at all. Listening to this final broadcast is bittersweet with much more weight on the depressing side.

Fortunately I personally recorded many of the Edge 102 Live to Airs in their entirety for future listening but never did the same with Psych Sunday, although I always meant to. I'm recording this final one from start to finish and will certainly make it available for everyone soon.

Last part of my posting should have said......
Corus big wigs, you all suck. Grave mistake by your past decisions.

May 27, 2018 @ 2:10 PM

Unfortunately I can't say I'm at all surprised by these big changes. Corus already destroyed The Edge years ago by firing their best announce talent (Martin Streek, Bookie etc). It was only a matter of time until they put the nail in the coffin at Q too. The saving grace for The Edge was Indie 88 scooping up some of The Edge's best former talent. Here's hoping something similar happens with some of Q's announcers & Psych Sunday.

May 27, 2018 @ 2:12 PM

RJ Peterson

It seems like that the Corus turds are letting go of the higher paid on air personalities. The one's that had made the radio station great.

Once 6:00 pm comes and Andy signs off, I too will sign off Q107. Sheesh!! You'd think that someone was dying based on the majority of these comments.
This thread is the late spring version of that infamous CHANGES TO AM 640 barnburner
from several months back!!! I think a little perspective is definitely needed. The man had a
great run, but both he and this particular playlist (easily fixable if the powers that be were
even moderately willing )are long past their best before date. Glad to see that there are
few other folks who are in agreement on that score!!

Andy was (IS) an icon as a radio personality IMO. I've met him 2-3 times & always a pleasure to talk to. He & many others made Q107 the station they WERE. All are gone. Good luck to Al, John & Andy.
Hopefully they all progress to new adventures to keep their voices, knowledge & spirit of radio alive.
Mighty Q has become the Lesser Q.

Thanks Andy for the great tunes, good memories and your shows - take care and best wishes - Q won’t be the same - neither will Sunday’s

May 27, 2018 @ 4:37 PM

So sad to see Andy Frost leaving the Q. As understand, it may not be Andy's choice. So many changes at the Q the past year or so - what the heck is going on? Gotta admit that I started to tune out when they changed the format from "Classic Rock" to "Rock". That said, Psychedelic Sunday with Andy was a staple in our household every week. We will be listening today for the last time with a tear in the eye. Thank-you Andy, for so many great years. We'll miss you. But not the Q, as we will be signing off permanently at 6:00 pm today.

May 27, 2018 @ 4:39 PM

Wow Andy!!!! You were my "go to" on Sundays!!! I'm gonna miss you make psychedelic Sunday the BEST!!!! I enjoyed your program, music mastery, and humour endlessly! Wishing all the best to you in the future!

May 27, 2018 @ 4:48 PM

I starting listening at 4:15PM & how ironic "The End" by The Doors started playing. Only hearing today as Andy's last gig at LESSER Q. He said his 2 kids are with him in studio for support as know it will be emotional when he signs off at 6PM. Good luck Andy in your future & hope to hear you very soon. You are 1 of the best ever.

The only time I listen to Q107 has been during Any's most amazing psychedelic Sundays. His choice of music is sublime and what an amazing Dj. Q has lost a true legend and I can't imagine listening beyond this point. Andy you are so appreciated and have no idea that impact you have had on listeners who truly appreciate great rock music. Shame on the Leafs and Q107. This man deserves better... Keep on Rock'n in the free world Andy. Thank you for so many years of musical joy!

Like so many others, I was stunned to hear that Andy Frost was leaving Q, & the psych Sunday that I’ve listened to for years was coming to an end.😢When I moved to Peterborough 4 years ago, I continued to listen to my favourite Sunday afternoon show.🎼 Gonna miss that mellow voice & all those old memories.🎸
Can’t believe the station is letting him go. What a huge mistake! Best wishes to you Andy in whatever comes next in your life journey. Hope to hear that voice again someday...😍

May 27, 2018 @ 5:01 PM

Sorry to hear this. This has been part of my Sunday's for so long. Just love the music you play. Really going to miss you on the Q. And my Sunday afternoons will never be the same.
By the way, music this afternoon is great.

Beautiful symbolic songs played regarding the iconic radio show Psychidelic Sunday's.
Thank you for the past 3 generations my Brotherman.

We will miss you terribly Andy! I met you once when I won tickets to Mendelson Joe in Yorkville! I was so happy to finally meet you. We were lucky winners of a few of your contests. Sunday will never be the same without Psychedelic Sundays. We actually won a Psychedelic T Shirt and will always treasure it.

When i was a 15 years old i started getting into the radio, first 1050 Chum, than Chum FM and than finally the Mighty Q. At that point all i listened to was Q107, know why, because the music was great. Toronto's Ultimate Rock 104.5 Chum FM (remember that) was a wimpy version of Q107 so for me Q stayed on. The music i was listening to was older than me and i had no older brother or sister to hear that music, all my choice. My love of Led Zeppelin was the end all but than Andy Frost came along with his chimes in the back round gently making sounds when he was on the air and of course Psych Sunday, at that point as a teenager i heard all this awesome music i would never have heard by myself. I have never met Andy Frost but i feel like i know him and at the very least i feel like he is sorta like a cool older big brother. Andy thanks for showing me the music. Zeppelin is still by favorite band, but all that music on Sunday's so long age till today will be with me forever. Thank you for opening up my mind as a young lad. To the joke known as Corus you are a sad bunch but really the joke is on all of Toronto and Southern Ontario. No more Andy or Psych Sunday........ no more Q for me. Farewell.

Andy you will be greatly missed. i have been listening to Q107 on Sundays for as long as you have on the 'Q'. I don't know what I''l do for a psychedelic fix.
Thank you for the years of music history.

My heart is breaking today. My husband was such a big fan of Andy and the show. Years ago we went to Psychedelic Psunday concerts in Barrie and more recently we were on the last Psychedelic Psunday cruise about 4 years ago . My husband died on April 20 and while listening to Andy today I had to pull my car over as I was reminded of what an important part the Q played in our lives. All things must pass.

The final song in Psychedelic Psunday history, and the final song played by Andy Frost on Q107 is Little Feat's Rock and Roll Doctor.

Rock and Roll Doctor was the first song from Andy's first radio show in college.

Very disappointed that Andy has been pushed out. My wife and I had numerous Sundays listening to Psychodelic Sunday and toasting with a glass of wine. We will miss you , and we hope you surface somewhere else. Your knowledge of our music genre provided us with "comfort food" every Sunday. Cheers Andy!

May 27, 2018 @ 6:05 PM

Sad to think I won't hear you on Sundays. Even my 3 grown children have grown up listening to you. & were sad to hear as well.
Q107 has slipped anyway, only listen to it when you were on.
91.7 or the new 92.9 should grab you. (only two classic rock stations left)
All the best Andy.

Listened to you for years. Today is a sad day as u say goodbye. We will miss you tremendously.

May 27, 2018 @ 6:16 PM

Andy's last song played was from his fave band Little Feat.
Andy Frost is not a Rock & Roll Doctor, He is a surgeon & the KING of R&R on radio. All the best Andy moving on & hope to hear your voice again.
Q is off my presets now. Q play your Duran Duran, Madonna, Culture Club (presale a few weeks ago) & hopefully get more listeners. LOL
BTW we share first names.

May 27, 2018 @ 6:25 PM

I would like to add one more thing to the comment I made earlier. Corus Entertainment, YOU BLOW CHUNKS! We love you Andy, all the best.

May 27, 2018 @ 6:39 PM

Over 30 years of listening to Q107 .
Over 30 years of listening to Psychedelic Sunday.
We got home from a lazy Sunday outing of lunch, and a walk, turned Q on and settled into an afternoon of reading and listening to Andy Frost. That's when we learned it was his last show.
We should have know something was up when Kim Mitchell was no longer on the air and Jennifer Valentine was on the morning show. (man, she is a annoying and exhausting !)
We live about 3 hours north of Toronto and while we can get at home, in the car radio once we are south of Mount Forest we can pick it up. It is the station we listen j to taking the kids back and forth to University and now when visiting grandchildren. We judged our trip by when we lost the mighty Q and when we could get it. AND when there were no kids in the car to groan at us we player it loud and sang along even louder.
It was a pretty exciting day about 15 years ago Whe we got satelite tv and disc6overed Q was one of the stations. We got bluetouth outdoor speakers and as we live in the country could play Q as loud as we wanted.
Well good luck with these changes. Your music is what set you apart !!! Your DJ's are what feeds your listeners and keeps them coming back. Your reputation of an amazing classic rock and roll station was the lofty gold standard !!! When you start watering it down, you are merely blending into the crowd of homogeneous stations that play Sweet Home Alabama 3 times a day and never play Curtis Loew. Is that your goal?? To be average? The bar isn't too high.
We are going to have to put our music onto our phone or ipod and listen to it that way. No more Q107 for us. The only upside is no commercials. WAIT, isn't that how you make a PROFIT???
Thank you to all the people at Q that over the past 30 plus years have made alot of people very very happy, and singing outloud to the wonderful music you fed us !!! ❤❤

Sorry to see you go Andy :( You will be missed by my husband and I. We would always sit outside in the summer and have a couple of drinks and enjoy your show. You have given us years of enjoyment. I am now deleting my preset for Q107!!!! Whoever made the decision to let Andy Frost go is a jackass!!!!! We will find a new station.

May 27, 2018 @ 7:33 PM

I just heard it today when Andy was signing off on Psychedelic Sunday for the final time. Sorry to see him go as he is one of the best and I had the pleasure of winning some prizes on his show awhile ago for answering the question of "who sang the song Spirit in the Sky", ( Zaeger & Evans ), I was the 7th caller....awesome !!! Andy was so cool on the phone and played it back after so my friends heard it too and were calling me up about it. God bless you Andy and keep well, I'm sure you'll end up landing on your feet somewhere for sure.

May 27, 2018 @ 7:58 PM

How did win as Spirit in the Sky was sang by Norman Greenbaum. Zager & Evens sang In The Year 2424. Andy must have felt sorry for you.

Shit. Forgot that this was Andy's last show. I first discovered Q107 in the 90's when they had the pure rock format. Always liked Andy Frost, those over night shows were awesome. Wasn't a huge fan of Psych Psunday but would still occasionally tune in to hear Andy.
You'll be missed buddy.

You do know that when you fired Andy Frost you Corus ass clowns also fired most of your long time listeners. Morons!!!!!

We at the NRMCC have put up a tribute to Andy Frost as well as the not so mighty Q107, on our website......... check it out.

By the way , love you Andy Frost and Al and the rest who got the shaft from scummy Corus.

lve been listening to that show before Andy was there, Rory Oshea was doing it for years, and before him was John Daringer , mid 70s when l started listening to the Q, l use to be a big CFTR, fan, along with CHUM, till the Q-107, began airing, they called it the Ultimate Rock Station FM, lm from Muskoka, it was hard to pick it up, the signal was weak, hooked my old speaker wires to my dads rotter on the roof to tune it in, or sit in the car, turn the key back to hear Psychedelic Sunday, it was wonderful hearing the great 60s songs l grew up with, nice to enjoy on sundays, with friends, my mother enjoyed it at christmas time with me, over 40 yrs lve been enjoying that music, l was deeply saddened yesterday when l heard andy say, the last show, l was doing dishes waiting for the songs, l broke a plate when l heard him say, at noon to start, always looking forward at 2pm to email andy for a request, l enjoyed that part of it, before yrs ago we had to call in, andy would answer, l met him twice, at the hard rock cafe, small place they had there, before was young and bloor, before that was sheppard and young or steeles studios, long time fan of the Q, but not now, lm done with them, this just ended it for me, the regular music they play now is always the same music played over and over, they dont try to play albums deep, just the same song list daily, it sucks, they could play more great songs but they dont the same rush songs, the who songs, hits only, l loke the 80s lunch with joanne at noon, hope that doesnt end, but Corus cutting al and andy sucks man, its such a popular show on sundays, cant fiqure why they got rid of it, l hope andy does the show on his own, playing classic rock, would be nice, the fans are there, like me paul in etobicoke, cheers

@Paul In E
Don't think that RD was ever a reg host ( but I could be wrong) and if you go to my website you will hear audio of Andy on the show in 1986 and 1987. Plus I have an almost 2 hour clip of the late great David Pritchard hosting the show in 1992. John Donabie left a comment on my web site to say he was a host for a while. I remember Don Berns doing a show or two. Plus a number of guest hosts such as Jimmy James and yes Rory O'Shea did step in as the host in the 1990's up to 1995 I think and then Andy returned.

May 28, 2018 @ 8:20 AM

Been listening to Q since 1977, and the days of Bobby Gayle. The last few years, since Corus took over, i noticed that Q has some kind of playlist that they adhere to, playing the same songs over and over. I in fact have heard the same song on back to back days and these songs are not new releases. Toronto now has NO classic/hard rock radio which is just sad. Corus killed rock and roll radio in Toronto. Well done.

May 28, 2018 @ 9:14 AM

Jag Singh

This is so sad. I've been listening since the beginning.

The day the the music died. There is no reason for me to listen to Q107 anymore.

Thank-you Andy Frost.

May 28, 2018 @ 11:07 AM

This is a travesty. Q107 has been one of the more successful stations in Toronto because of Andy Frost. He was the reason I listened to the station more so than the music. So I leave with this comment. The person who should be let go from there is the one who made this decision. Not a legend of radio.

May 28, 2018 @ 12:37 PM

I hope Andy lands on his feet with another station that plays true classic rock. I just got satellite radio in the car so I hope all of the Q107's advertisers take note they are paying for a shrinking market.

May 28, 2018 @ 1:29 PM

Andy makes it clear that he's not retiring. I think it's safe to say that we'll see Psych Sunday resurface. If not on a FM station then as a podcast.

May 28, 2018 @ 2:04 PM

Toronto Mike Verified as the defacto Toronto Mike

I'm sure "I'm not retiring" means "I want to continue working". Because make no mistake about it, Andy did not want to leave Q. He had no choice.

May 28, 2018 @ 2:06 PM

Let the dreamers dream, Mike!! Nice to see Peter Howell belatedly return to his former music beat
with that article!!! Who else other than Andy Frost has ever willingly played Little Feat on commercial
radio in Toronto?!? Myself, more a fan of their "Fat Man in the Bathtub" or "Dixie Chicken!!"

May 28, 2018 @ 2:12 PM

And another thing regarding Mr. Frost's exit from Q107: Cheap Trick's "Auf Wiedersehen" from
their boss 1978 album "Heaven Tonight" would have also made for fitting exit music if it wasn't
several years past the suitable playlist period!! Didn't stop the station from playing "More Than
a Feeling" (1976) countless times during Psychedelic Psunday over the years!!!

May 28, 2018 @ 2:17 PM

Javed Jafri

You were too young but Little Feat rcvd air play on the early CHUM FM as well as CFNY. People forget that CFNY early on and right to the late 1980's was not just about punk and new wave. That music did dominate especially starting in the 1980's you would hear all kinds of music on the station until it went full "modern rock".

May 28, 2018 @ 2:44 PM

@Javed Jafri
I do recall Q107 giving a few perfunctory spins to the first singles from a couple of Little
Feat reunion albums in the late 1980s and early 1990s, but other than the odd Psych Psunday
spin, not much else. I'm 45 , but I'll take your word for it that local radio used to be a lot more
adventurous and deep!!

May 28, 2018 @ 2:58 PM

Colleen Dasher

Andy, you are the BEST. Psychedelic Psunday was amazing. We planned our Sunday's around Psychedelic Psunday when we could....we would say things like: "Let's getting our shopping done early so we are back in time to listen to Psychedelic Psunday." Andy, you are a classy man, you never made the show about you, you made it about the people, the music and a fantastically run show. I can't believe it, I actually feared this day may come. I know people of all ages that loved your show. Nothing lasts forever.

May 28, 2018 @ 3:00 PM

After leaving Woofstock on Saturday on a TTC Route 22 bus crowded with people and their dogs, including big drooling ones (I mean the dogs, although I suppose that could also apply to some of the people), I saw two signs advertising the radio station's usual free Canada Day picnic with tribute bands, although I have no idea if those signs may have been there for more than a year. With July 1 just over a month away, I still see no mention of it on the station's website.

May 28, 2018 @ 3:11 PM

@Toronto Mike

When Andy said he's not retiring, he said he has two kids and "too many payments". To me that means he can't afford to stop working. Maybe my imagination is running a bit wild but I'm hopeful that means he's looking for another opportunity.

May 28, 2018 @ 4:01 PM

Ignore my last comment. I took what you said as the complete opposite lol

May 28, 2018 @ 4:16 PM

So sorry to lose Andy Frost and his voice for my Sundays. It was the only regular listening I did with Q107, and the only radio show to play selections that are not the tired "same-old greatest hits".

It remains to be seen how much the more desirable 'younger audience' tunes in to enjoy their Hip Hop and Rap, or whatever else Q107 next decides to be cool. I will not be there.

Q107 used to be my favourite station. Now I do not think I will tune in to it again.

May 28, 2018 @ 5:27 PM

al from hamilton

sunday will never be the same nor q107 like tohear where your heading andy and al best wishes

May 28, 2018 @ 8:20 PM

Disgusted....... continued

Andy......Fanstastic show yesterday! What class you have, sir! You held it together amazingly on what must have been an incredibly emotional day. I sat on the deck in the beautiful weather...enjoyed a few beers and shed a few tears while listening, knowing with the end of each song, 6pm was getting closer and closer..............

Well.......after the show, I scraped the Q107 sticker off the back of my car. After 35+ years of being a loyal Q listener, I have decided they are no longer worthy...........

This morning I ran down the dial to Boom, and have decided to give them a fair shot ..... the variety of tunes was pretty good. Heard some Robert Plant, Jimmy Buffett at lunch (yes...I'm a parrothead!) and some Jerry Rafferty in the afternoon, just to mention a few. The station has a fresher sound, music-wise than will give it try for a while.........

I'm still really pissed that Psyc is gone. A shame wasn't just a radio show...It was an entire generation..........I remember reading somewhere the ratings were still pretty good for the show.....doesn't make any sense to me........seems like Corus was determined to cancel regardless..........

Careful what you wish for Corus.................keep it up and soon you will be at the very bottom of the ratings list..............

As for me, another 35+ yr loyal Q gone

Just to give you an idea abouyt the wide playlists on CFNY. Here is a scan of a chart I saved of the best and worst of 1981:

Hope this works:
The Best:

Little Feat are at number 61. Yes the list is heavy on new wave type acts but there's a smattering of others as we,, and the punk/new wave was whhere most of the experimentation and innovation was

The worst:

These were voted by listeners.

One more thing. A lot of commentators on this post have said that Q 107 never played Duran Duran before. Well here is a Q 107 chart from 1984 that I saved from the Toronto Sun and golly gee Duran Duran are at number two:

Yes Q 107 generally leaned harder but not always monolithic hard rock and heavy metal.

May 28, 2018 @ 10:23 PM

Well gosh golly there is the proof that sometimes crappy music will be played on a once mighty station. I see it and it makes me sad but i still don't remember Q107 playing that Duran Duran shit, not even once and my radio was on and turned on Q107 24/7. If they did play that shit as well as list it on the charts i truly don't remember hearing it(thank god). Still no Andy Frost, no me.
By the way thanks for the chart, i as a teenager kept them for years and than like an idiot grew up and tossed them, i'll keep that one on my computer. Duran Duran suck!!!!!!

The station has been around since 1977 and have gone through many iterations of the format. Definitely had a harder rock edge than other TO stations but I have tapes of them playing bands like Flock of Seagulls. Bob Mack. had a show where he would routinely play 1960's garage rock and also pop rock hits from the 1960's. The chart I copied advertises a show with the Allnite Andre and he was with CFNY for a long time. Keith Elshaw another CFNY alum was there at the same time or a bit earlier. Psyche Sunday featured a diverse set of music through the years.

May 29, 2018 @ 6:31 AM

This is a very sad and stupid decision. There really isn't anything else worth listening to regularly on the Q. My 14 yo daughter and I listened to this show almost every Sunday, since she was a toddler. My kid loved this show, including Riffer Madness. She is not alone: there are many many teenagers and young people 20+ who have TASTE and are hungry to learn about classic rock.

Another reason to get Sirius radio
Think I am done with the Q
That was the last good show on radio!
Here,s hoping it bites them in the ass.

May 29, 2018 @ 3:53 PM

Growing up in Toronto in the 80's we were changing radio stations as we outgrew them, but for the last 30 odd years the Q has been my go to every Sunday, religiously. When they changed their format a few years back and started tampering with the Psundays it started to get lame . They are essentially becoming what 107.9 Hamilton is, which is bordering on 97.7 in St. Catharines. My only hope now is 91.7 classic rock out of the Niagara Region, maybe Andy Frost could let them use the name for their Sundays. That would be great. Thanks Q for getting me thru, but its time to bid adieu.

May 29, 2018 @ 5:53 PM

OK, OK, you all finished with this friggin thing already? C'mon Andy wasn't nothing special, it was all about the Classic Rock. I've been in this city long enough to realize real talent, and I can say Frost was no Dave Marsden, Pete Griffin, Scruff Conners, hell he wasn't even close to Jungle Jay Nelson!
I tweeted a response to Mike Stafford, another Corus on air dude, who said he was getting all "Misty Eyed" over Andy's selection of The Boxer by Simon and Garfunkel; specifically the line "a man hears want he wants to hear an disregards the rest". I tweeted back that a more appropriate song would have been "Simple Man" by Lynyrd Skynyrd; Mike's response? He Blocked me from his Twitter. It's called constructive criticism, had Andy learned that he was only the messanger, not the message he may still have a job, not only with Q, but with the ACC. The late great Ronnie Van Zant had it right, "be a simple kind of man". Spikes interpretation, don't be a fucken dickweed!

Couldn't agree with you more!! But don't worry, the Kevin Frankish thread will quickly become the new standard bearer for mawkish over-sentimentality!! (Please note: Just one skeptic/cynic's jaded

Kevin Frankish , god i love that guy, mostly 'cause he's shorter than me! I'm gonna miss him, what they did to him breaks my heart....... What did they do to him? Did i miss the memo? Long live the big Kev.

Hey bsmntdwillr 73. Thanks for your response on this. Problem as I see it is that these media people who make less dough than my grade ten dropouts think they know all the answers and they have all the knowledge, why; because they have a College degree. Well most of the millionaires I know never got through highschool, but sure know how to educate on the school of hard knocks. So wake up Media types, to quote the late great Richard Prior, "you ain't all that".One more quote from a great poet, songwriter, humble humanitarian; "I learned more from a three minute record then I ever learned in school" thank you Bruce!

I am really really sad to hear about not having Andy to listen to. Just like other people commenting, so much of the past years have been spent listening and enjoying the very soothing voice and it was always something I could count on, in what has been a nightmare for me over the past ten years. I could forget about my troubles for a little while. I hope that he will be hired by another station. Mike please keep us up to date on any developments. Psych Sundays will NEVER be the same!!!!!!
Andy, all the very best to you and your family and many many THANKS from a hearbroken listener.

My only reason for listening to Q was Psycedelic Sunday. I have no reason to listen now. First Andy gets dropped by the Leafs, now this. Definitely some funny business going on over at Chorus. Just like they screwed around with am640. They broke up the Stafford show and for what? Staffords show was the best show on am640, could only be bested by John Oakley. Who ever is running things at Chorus these days hasn't heard - if it ain't broke, don't fix it !!!! Psycedelic Sunday and the Stafford show - two of the best radio shows in the Chorus radio family and they had to F with them. I may not be listening to any of their stuff now. Too bad. I was?? an am640 listener going back to the Mojo days.

I worked at Q107 and 640 15-20 years ago, for about seven years. Q107 started as the reason I wanted to get into radio, and ended as the reason I wanted to leave it. Right around the time Corus took over from WIC, you could physically feel people's spirits had disappeared as you walked the hallways. It was literally tangible. And eerie. The "new boss" always aims to shake things up, and boy did they! They treated the radio station like a corporate business. Which I guess it is. But the thing is, you can't treat radio that way. There is a creative component to it which needs to be allowed to flourish. It's not a law office. "Fun" is part of the money-making process. If a radio station is not fun, it comes across to the listeners, and the listeners stop caring.

Psychedelic Psunday was family to me, and I was lucky enough to be able to tell Andy that the next day on the phone. He seemed grateful to hear that, and I was glad for the chance to talk to him, as I haven't in years.

If Q107 had played it smart, not only would they not have cancelled the #1 show in the city, but they would have found a way to syndicate it and make even more money, using their studio as a flagship station to however many affiliates they wanted. It was not a regional show. It could be listened to anywhere. Why did they never figure that out?

The Andy-Al-Scholes trinity was the last vestige of that generation of Q employees from when I was there, both on air and off. Now everyone is gone. We are the relics George Harrison sang about. All things must pass. And I might not feel so badly about that if Q were still the spirit of radio Rush sang about. Psych Psunday was that, because it deviated from the cookie-cutter playlist, which created a signature rhythm in the show and added some personality.

So I suppose I'm sad for lots of different reasons. But at least I'm happy that my iPod holds 160 gigs of music. I'll be needing it a lot more.

Hey NAiLs, I hear you. Unfortunately it is a business and now the bean counters are in control. It's happening to ALL media - radio, TV, print, digital. They are looking to cut all over to meet the bottom line regardless of how it affects their shows. All media are hurting and I know too well. I work in media too but was recently let go as well after more than 30 years in the business, 20+ years of nothing but good performance reviews but it doesn't mean sh*t when you get caught up in the numbers game. It's like you have to draw straws but someone else is drawing for you - no control. I feel for Andy and Al. Know exactly what it's like. The shame of it all is we're losing some great talent along with the memories.

May 31, 2018 @ 10:46 PM

Was in print industry I lost my job with "restructuring" after 38 years with same organization.
I just pity students looking for any oppurtunity in any type of media - Radio, TV, Printing.
It's all about the money & unfortuantley the SUITS would rather save a buck with kicking prominent people who worked their @$$ off for many years to the curb.
Truly that's how I feel now.

May 31, 2018 @ 11:11 PM

first it was the spaceman on am640 saturday night, now its andy frost gone, stafford has been moved to mornings, the only reasons to tune in are oakley in afternoon, and alex pierson in evenings, the rest of time its infomercials! corus is playing with fire, lets hope andy turns up somewhere where he is appreciated.have to dust off the turntable and get the vinyl out of storage

June 2, 2018 @ 6:03 PM

They did this in the late 90's, yanked Psych Psunday, under new management then. Only took like a year or so to come back after the outcry. I have faith it will return in some form.

June 3, 2018 @ 9:00 AM

All bets are that Q107 will be country 107 or Fresh 107 this summer.

June 3, 2018 @ 9:24 AM

Sunday June 3rd, 12:30 pm, listening to Tom Petty "Learning to Fly" followed by The Guess Who's, "Hang on to your life" on Q; perfect!

My Q107 listening days are over!! Andy Frost and his program was the best thing about Q.
Very SAD day when he left!! He was part of the family day each Sunday!!

June 3, 2018 @ 1:44 PM

So is that newbie guy Kolter now being on air 7 days a week (weekend=Memorexed?) one of the
great things that John Scholes alleged would be happening in his seven minute send off three weeks back?!? Never thought that I'd publicly admit that I (already) miss Andy Frost, but, here goes, MEA CULPA, Andy!!I surely do!!Some off-playlist Little Feat would sure sound real good right 'bout now!!! P.S., does anyone else think that this Kolter fella might also clean the toilets and take out
the trash as well? Not a comment on his broadcasting abilities or lack thereof, but he always seems
to be on the air. Maybe they let him sleep in his car in the Corus parking lot, just in case they need

June 3, 2018 @ 1:50 PM

NAiLs (not Mahoney)

Yes, and for some reason no one remembers that. They TRIED cancelling Psych Psunday once in the '90s. The backlash was so intense they had to issue an on-air apology. Can you imagine that? I don't remember it lasting a year, though. I don't think they were able to weather that storm for more than a few weeks.

June 5, 2018 @ 5:56 PM

Q107 had deteriorated to the point that I don t bother listening. The downward slide began when Kim Mitchell left. But Andy Frost and psych Sunday? Come on that's what made the station great . The afternoon and evening deejays they have now are as annoying as hell . Not funny just stupid and designed to appeal to 14 year old would be hipsters. I listen to Sirius XM now. Q just lost a loyal listener since its inception in 1977 . Garbage now.

June 6, 2018 @ 8:31 AM

The petition for, Bring back Psychedelic Sunday, don't forget to sign it and pass it on online. Fight for our music.

June 6, 2018 @ 2:44 PM

Hey Nails, you ain't ruining my fun, Frost did that years ago, oh and I've got choices; it's called the dial, records, and Sirius radio. It's bad enough Corus still has too jackoff's, especially on talk radio, I really don't need another Andy-know-it-all.

June 6, 2018 @ 4:27 PM

Innocent question from a fairly new comment poster(!!), but will this most-enticing thread be presented with a shiny plaque, a Keg gift card and a nice celebratory cake when it soon reaches 250
or 275 posts? 'Cause ya know, it really should!! Then again, I wouldn't want the "Changes to
Am640" thread to sentiently feel slighted in any way!!!

June 6, 2018 @ 5:11 PM

NAiLs (not Mahoney)

@David (and anyone else interested)

I'm not a sales rep for Sirius or anything, but I find that combining Classic Vinyl (Ch. 26) with Deep Tracks (Ch. 27), you get a mix of music relatively similar to what Andy offered on Sunday. It costs $$ of course, so that's one downside. But these are good "weekend" stations you can use to replicate Psych Psunday until it comes back on the air (if ever).

June 6, 2018 @ 6:19 PM

NAiLs (not Mahoney)

@ Spike

Yes troll, the last thing anyone wants to hear on the radio is someone who is knowledgeable. I bet you called in drunk one day and Andy burned you, and that's why the grudge. BTW, Sirius is filled with "know-it-alls," and I love it (Little Steven's on Ch. 21 is the best for that). Hey, I think Q is playing "Signs" by 5 Man Electrical Band for the 18th time today, you wouldn't want to miss that.

June 6, 2018 @ 6:29 PM

@Nails (Not Mahoney)
You might be right about Q over-playing "Signs", but half the time it is the 1990 cover version
by Tesla, LOL!!

NAiLs (not Mahoney)

@ bsmntdwllr73

Haha, yeah reason # 612 to dump the Q. I'm all over that Keg gift card idea too. Toronto Mike better ante up with a cake.

June 6, 2018 @ 6:40 PM

@NAils (not Mahoney)

He might be saving (up) those precious gifts for that long-awaited Ann Rohmer appearance, ya know,
just to butter her up a little beforehand!!!

June 6, 2018 @ 6:53 PM

Nails I get it, you worked at Q years ago, and development a relationship with Frost therefore feel the need to defend him, very noble. But you isulted me by saying I'm a troll and a drunk, wow that really put some spunk into your post, the great defender, you obviously didn't read my original comments. Maybe instead of cake from the Keg, a healthy slice of humble pie would be more appropriate washed down with a glass of warm milk, probably in your case it would be Soya, save some for Andy. You have your opinion, I've got mine; and you know what they say about opinions? Like an asshole, everyone's got one. BTW you didn't say what you did at Q, my guess, a coffee runner, I'll have mine black. To compare Andy's knowledge in music to Little Steven's is like comparing the Pope to a TV preacher; now go get your friggin shine box, it's a good day for it. Gotta go groupie, cueing up The Five Man Electrical Band.

June 8, 2018 @ 10:22 AM

Since Andy has left, I have stopped listening to q107

June 12, 2018 @ 9:12 PM

Nice burn! So hot/intense, I feel like even I need to go posthumously put some Lidocaine on!!

June 13, 2018 @ 9:30 AM

NAiLs (not Mahoney)

@ Spike

Oh, you're definitely trolling. No doubt about that. And my having worked with Andy does give me a bit of authority on the subject of his temperament. He appreciated all his listeners/callers, but did not suffer fools either. If you were as pugnacious on the phone as you are here, it's easy to figure out what happened. I've call screened a hundred clowns like you. You're what radio peeps call a "loogan." And I did read your original comment, you splitting hairs about LA Woman not being the Doors' last album. And he's probably right, no one cares. Probably The Doors don't even care! And I'd love to hear that phone call, to see how polite and genteel you were from the beginning before the Big Bad Radio Man yelled at you and hurt your feelings. Don't lie, you're still crying about it.

June 14, 2018 @ 11:08 PM

Loogan, is nails really Mike Stafford, after all didn't he coin that word??? I guess it's better than being called a drunk. As I said, you are devoted to your friend, and good on you. But you can't stop my opinion. I'm not losing any sleep, and I'm not "crying" over the "Big Bad Radio Man", (the only big bad man that scares me is my bookie) I simply gave Andy some info he may have wanted to share with his listeners, but instead he said nobody cares goodbye. I decided that this guy wasn't worth listening to, and stopped listening. Now that he got canned, I responded GOODBYE. For you to say "nobody cares" and that "probably The Doors don't even care" just proves my point.
I was at The Doors Other Voices concert at St. Lawrence Hall Nov 71, (you were probably still in diapers) and Ray Manzarek definitely cared. Ray roamed around the crowd, and I spent some time with him, he signed my shirt, and I remember saying don't give up! Anyway you have stated that you were a "screener" AKA coffee runner, don't bother with my large black, I'm going for an espresso, and cueing up "Variety is the Spice of Life" or maybe "I'm Horny I'm Stoned" or better yet "Hang on to Your Life". Look em up coffee boy.

June 15, 2018 @ 2:52 PM

Okay, so I'm comment number 251 in this thread and I really think that it is time to bring out the cake and Keg Gift Cards as I recently suggested!! Really loving this back and forth between a couple
of the above commenters. Guess I really should start expanding my horizons beyond the public
library system? Might even look into getting a Friday night Colonic as some might suggest
that I'm all backed-up and totally full of crap! Happy weekend everybody!!

Or, perhaps we can somehow arrange a co-ed soft ball team and take on the all-stars from the
lagging "Changes at AM640" thread? Just a humble suggestion from an Expository Eunuch (thanx to
the formerly Democratic Dennis Miller for that one!)

June 15, 2018 @ 4:24 PM

Hey bsmntdwllr73, I don't know how this works, I'm new to this shit, although Nails seems to think I'm a troll, don't even know what that is? So I asked my granddaughter; Bella what's a Troll? The response she gave me was someone who says bad things on the Internet, Fuck me! If my opinion is considered being a troll, then you know what Nails, you gotta be the prince of, no wait the friggin king of trolls. But on the upside bsmntdwllr73 if I can get you a cake, then I guess it's worth it. One condition though, no cake for Nails, only a slice of crow, or humble pie! Me I'll have a green tea.

June 15, 2018 @ 7:09 PM

You're great!! I have no life, so I find this whole thing utterly fascinating!! I cry/moan/whine over
the closing of record stores and the retirement of my favourite local smut emporium, not some long-past his prime radio announcing hack!!! As for the cake, it's more a hypothetical idea, like that poisonous gas capsule Lex Luthor trolled Superman with in that first tights 'n' flights classic flick back in '78!

June 16, 2018 @ 9:36 AM

Sorry to see you go Andy

I have been wondering what has happened to physc Sundays. I have listened for many, many years.
You will be sadly missed Andy, for your knowledge of classic rock and of course your great on air personality. Q is not going to ever be the same without you. Wishing you all the best with future endeavors. Bye Andy, take care.

July 2, 2018 @ 9:55 PM

I listened to q107 since its first day .
With Andy and John gone, what's the point.

July 8, 2018 @ 1:25 PM

Rick C in Oakville

Corus, as with stopping Spirit of Radio Sundays with Skot Turner, blew an opportunity to have loyal listeners tune in on a day that probably isn't a big numbers generator. Think of all the advertising dollars lost.

July 8, 2018 @ 2:43 PM

Gary / Markham

I was a Fan of "Q" from the early Years.
I looked forward to Sunday Afternoons with Andy and Physc Sundays.
The new so called replacement talent is an embarrassment and joke . Personality of a brick.
Q107 has lost another listener and is officially off my list.
Serious Bad Call by management .

July 8, 2018 @ 2:47 PM

The Brick Show(!) would make for a more than apropos show title for the relative newbie at
IQ of 7, who appears to be doing almost all the weekend shifts (as well as weekday afternoons),
even if they are all presumably pre-taped. You'd think that a slight tweak to the station's beyond
stale music programming would have also been in order, but apparently not. Boom has a much
better mix and live Djs on the weekend to boot! P.S., at least bricks serve a very important
function. Not sure what this Kolter dude's purpose is other than to be a cheap alternative to
properly paying a more established talent!!!

July 8, 2018 @ 3:51 PM

You all kidding me? I would love to go back to the 60's Yorkville Village, or my days at Rochdale College, and the days of the Jewish Market or Markham St Village, (aka's Kensington market, and now defuct Mirish Village); but those days are gone, gone, gone.
I learned to adapt from the Beatles, and the Stones to accept and appreciate David Bowie, Tom Petty, and Springsteen.
Move on people, life doesn't, and won't wait for you. Andy should be alright, hope you can all say the same!

July 10, 2018 @ 4:46 PM

Still not crying any tears over Senor Frost, but I sure do shed heavy tears daily about the piss poor
state of new rock and roll as a viable commercial entity. Stations like Q107's complete refusal to
play newer music by their core artists is a major part of that particular problem. Bands going out
with one original member (often not the singer) and their old time lighting director/cocaine
provider just doesn't cut it!! People are fools for the large sums of money they pay to see
the same bands sing the same 10 to 12 songs multiple times with ever-diminishing returns.
They can just listen to IQ of 7 for free and spend the Shekels saved on some extra Viagra
or weed!!! Not a coincidence at all that the unmighty q has more than one ED sponsor!!!

July 10, 2018 @ 4:58 PM

Meant to type ED medication sponsor above!

Yes, those WERE the days. All good things must come to an end. Allowing Andy Frost to broadcast a final show was a class act by Chorus even though I am not a fan of their limited annoying playlist. Andy was a class act! I was able to catch his show, Frost Overnight, on my way to work in the very early morning hours. Sunday's was always anticipated knowing Andy was going to host another Physc Sunday. His baritone voice anchored the show professionaly. One of his retired contests before he left was, riffer madness. Always kept me guessing the song and occasionaly got the answer right. As for Chorus Radio, they have butchered the mighty Q into the abyss. I can't stand their format anymore. There are so many great artists with their songs that could be added to their playlists but unfortunately, I can't understand why they are not included. It must be the economics of royalties. I'm from the Barrie area and Chorus owns BIG101, which also plays, classic rock. Going to work numerious pre dawn mornings, I toyed with switching back and forth numerious radio stations and was surprised that BIG101 & Q107 were playing the same songs on numerious days. After researching the stations owners, I soon figured it all out. Barrie has numerious radio stations to satisfy your tastes in music. My aerial atop of the silo brings in a huge variety of different music genre stations to stave off our local stations complaitancy, During Andy's final show, I was kept guessing the final song of his show. I'm proud he kept his composure giving a final tribute to all his fans at the time of signing off for the very last time. I couldnt help but feel a moment of emptiness.
Good bye, Andy. Good bye. It was a pleasure to have been fa n of yours.

P.S. I salute you as an iconic Toronto figure and hope that you will be recognised for your contribution to radio broadcasting. Enjoy your retirement.
