+1 for the new T Shirt.

I bought this shirt at the second of the three Toronto Hip shows last August. I wore it during the Maestro ep!

Kudo's on the haircut and lack of sweat pants also.

Our boy is all grown up !

Did you take off your wedding ring for this episode Mike? Is there something you want to tell us?

I never wear it. I don't like the feeling of jewelry on my hands.

Still happily married, though.

This is a massive guest. I'm downloading now.

Can't wait!

Wow, great get!

Excited to listen.

A very enjoyable convo, especially comparing the eras in which Bob's worked.

(If you ever get Phil Esposito in the basement, don't call him a lousy GM!)

Just finished. Great episode as I expected.

You have a remarkable ability to take someone I always thought of as a talking head and making him / her interesting. I (almost) always end up liking the person better after hearing them on your podcast.

Another great episode. Thank you!

@Aldo Definitely agree Mike does a great job humanizing his subjects. Bob is no exception.

What really surprised me is that no one, whether CBC or Rogers, ever tried to poach Bob at some point.

Finally, as a foreigner in regards to Rogers vs. TSN and taking the legacy HNIC people out, I still prefer TSN. Got a deep pool with Bob, James Duthie, and Darren Dreger. There was even a time back in the day TSN would do an audio simulcast on their website of their trade deadline/free agent coverage. Geoblocking that was their biggest mistake.

There may be a career in radio for you some day. I must agree with Irvine, great choice in T-shirts this week.

Great Interview. What was Bob's reaction to the Howard Stern stuff?
He obviously thought you did your research!

Man, I screwed up. I meant to give you credit for pulling the Stern audio.

Thanks for that!

Another great one Mike. Once again I barely noticed the time go by. Interesting guy.

March 29, 2017 @ 12:17 PM

I don't need credit!

I was pleased to offer content to an excellent show and host that gives plenty of informative information and enjoyment each week to the many of us out there!

Haha, I love when people pretend they don't know how many Twitter followers they have, as if they're not constantly checking.

Both Bob and Mike guilty of that in this episode.

Good episode.

To me it sounded as if Bobby Mac was guarded and didn't reveal much that we for the most part didn't already know, but it was still nice to hear him out of his usual element.

@Urooj Islam

I promise you, I hadn't seen my # of Twitter followers in several months. I guessed 6000 and I was pretty close. :)

March 29, 2017 @ 1:58 PM

Bob was definitely guarded a lot at first. It almost felt like he was Shanahaning Mike (see James Duthie).

As for Esposito, say what you will but he is always fun to listen to, Unlike the pre-programmed nothing you get from hockey players now.

Great episode. Yes Bob was guarded in the beginning, but he seemed to open up a bit more towards the end.

"There may be a career in radio for you some day."

Another white dude in his 40s on Toronto radio. That'll fly over well.

Sorry, I had to. :)

Let the record show I have never pursued a job in radio nor do I intend to do so. :)

What? !!. Clearly you're a failure then Mike. Why years ago I chose a career in technology over radio & was told it was because I was a "failure". It's so sad I do what I do versus back announcing Nickelback songs on Red Deer's Best Rock.

There is no such thing as a career in radio anymore.
