Toronto Fact

He was once a beast and is now a beaut.

Great episode.

That last 2 minutes was gold. Hilarious. I remember those Landry bits, and the early morning calls.

Wilner is rational. I think that's what people can't handle about him. He just seems completely rational about everything all the time.

Loved every minute of this one. It's right up there with Maddog.

Great job, both of you.

@torontomike Good podcast with Mike Wilner. I learned a lot.

— Mark Hebscher (@Hebsyman) November 14, 2014

@torontomike enjoyed the Wilner podcast - still think he is disrespectful to fans - he can still have an intelligent convo and not be a jerk

— Baseball Truths (@baseballtruths1) November 15, 2014

@torontomike Great job on the podcast. The tough questions were asked fairly and @wilderness590 answered honestly.

@Wilnerness590 @torontomike Loved the interview. Do find that sometimes my most innocuous Tweets are met with default rude response.

@torontomike good job. I enjoyed it.

Hey @TorontoMike,

Really enjoyed listening late last night before sleepy time. I see Mike daily during the summer so it was nice to hear a lot of what he was doing before the Fan590.

Looking forward to the "Very Special 100th Episode" coming soon ;)

I'm sure the best of will include a story about Airplane 2.

I'm sorry, but I didn't find the podcast so positive. Mike Wilner came across as defiant. And he does not seem to understand the value of empathy. Most importantly, it appears as if he feels entitled to be "judge and jury". This is why I have stopped listening to his show, and I'm glad that I did. And Toronto Mike, I didn't find you sufficiently challenging.

Yeah Mike, pummel the man until he squeals!

I'm seeing double! Four Lornes!

I should clarify! The disappointed Lorne is a different Lorne from the chef / regular Lorne.

That was an entertaining podcast. I am no fan of Wilner's style and have flat out stopped listening to his show the last few years but I always love hearing how radio/tv guys get started in the industry until they move up to their current position. Pretty miraculous that Wilner asked to join the campus radio station on a whim and it turned into a successful career.

Well done Mike. Great podcast.

One of the best ones yet. Wilner is not such a bad guy afterall. Good listen. Thanks!

Jason from Sudbury

I listened to this last week, just haven't commented yet.
I'm not much into baseball so it's rare I catch Wilner's shows and I couldn't tell you how he is with callers, whether he comes across as an arrogant asshole, or whatever else people are saying. But to me, listening to the podcast, he sounded angry at some points. Was still cool to hear how he got into radio though.

Really looking forward to Strombo, hopefully #99.
