John All's 70-foot Fall

John All is an American climate scientist who fell into a 70-foot crevasse on Mount Himlung in the Himalayas. He broke his arm and five ribs, dislocated his shoulder, and captured most of it with his camera.

WOW IF TRUE.

Was this STAGED as part of movie or similar to get recognition?

Just wondering as sure seems like it with 1 arm done & not usable & still taking videos with the other & still hanging on for dear life.

I must be slipping in the 'media literacy' department
it didn't occur to me what andrew suggested possible

remember that camera that fell from a plane and ended up
on a pig farm
discovered with footage intact?

at the time I figured a 'guerilla' marketing stunt.
