The Waterfront Revitalization

skylineThe Waterfront Revitalization Corp. has unveiled the top five redesign concepts for a Toronto waterfront that would be more accessible to residents and visitors. Construction of the winning design is set to begin in the fall.

I've spent the past couple of days working at 1 Yonge Street and to get to the office I've been walking through BCE Place where I've been checking out the designs that are on display. I'm sort of digging the entry from West 8 & du Toit Allsopp Hillier, but I don't think any of the five are quite right for this purpose. West 8 & du Toit Allsopp Hillier plans to combine the primary waterfront with a floating waterfront along with a boulevard and slip-ends. It's a nice start, but far from a complete thought.

This thing has to rock. I think we can do better. I know we deserve better.
