My absolute favourite Q-Tip song: Mark Ronson - Bang Bang Bang

Resemblance to another Ryan, Getzlaf

Great episode, especially the latter-half dedicated to Old School nineties rap. One question:
10 Jams selected, played and discussed, so why isn't this show considered part of the official
KOTJ canon?!? P.S., might it also finally be time to freely and proudly fly that KOTJ banner again
in all episodes where it is appropriate? Still my absolute favourite part of the TM'd universe, sorry panel-loving sports fans. No, not really!!

It's not canon because it's not his 10 favourite songs of all-time, it's his 10 favourite hip-hop songs from a specific four year period.

Splitting hairs, perhaps? Then again, I can't recall if those episodes dedicated to sports jams, cover
songs and guilty pleasures are part of the official KOTJ record. Probably not.

Not splitting hairs at all... when I do those top 10 guilty pleasure jams or top 10 sports jams, none of them are KOTJ canon.

Good to know. Thanks for the clarification. My splitting hairs comment was more in
reference to myself posting the query when I was already somewhat sure of the response,
At the end of the day I'm always most grateful for all the music related content on TM'd, KOTJ-branded or not!!

The next two eps (Bif Naked and Stu Jeffries) are KOTJ!

January 18, 2019 @ 2:33 PM

Cant' wait to hear those two episodes. Really curious, especially 'bout Ms. Naked's picks and hopefully
Stu will feel secure enough to sing along with some of his Jams, a la his very pleasing tones
whenever he plays "Sweet Caroline" on his morning show!!
