A bit of a playful episode, but still had a bunch of interesting content throughout.
I'd like to think there's a long term broadcasting payoff/investment in learning and covering the 'other' sports too. Don Whitman is probably the ultimate example.
Should be a good KOTJ return.

You have the best non-paying gig!! You get to meet and talk with all kinds
of interesting people, including many very accomplished and attractive women,
who are actually quite willing to sit in your basement and submit to a Deep Dive,
Real Talk gabfest for an hour or two! Thanks again for yet another compelling
and interesting episode. P.S., nice sarcasm(?) from Laura regarding the obscurity
of her music pick. Thank goodness that Ed Sullivan didn't live long enough to hear
this, 'cause he certainly had more than a bit of an issue with this song's title back
in the day!!! Plus, didn't picture Laura as being into the heavier stuff!!

Great interview, Mike. You do such a great job by instinctively following these two rules:
1) Asking just one question that is a question. Many people -- even professional interviewers -- will ask a series of questions or, worse, ramble on and then just stop.
2) Actually listening to what the guest says. Again, many people just move on to the next pre-written question without any follow-up.

Laura was making it sound like her song was something super obscure. I was able to name it after one note!

Toronto Mike Verified as the defacto Toronto Mike

@John M.

I, of course, knew her song before she introduced it. I was flabbergasted when she said nobody would know it. For a moment, I thought she was kidding, but she wasn't.

Next she'll tell me The Beatles' Yesterday is an obscure gem we should check out!

Thanks for the kind feedback. Laura was great and so easy to chat with. She'll be back to kick out the jams.
