cdMike Kic turned me on to Atmosphere. I was hanging out at his house when he slipped me a bunch of Atmosphere CDs and told me it was right up my alley.

I've only recently dived in, and now I can't get enough. I'm always going back to Atmosphere, a hip hop duo from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Slug drops the rhymes and Ant spins the wheels of steel.

If you like good hip hop and rap and aren't yet familiar with Atmosphere, it's time to catch up. Here's an early track to get you started. After this, you're on your own.

I don't know if I'd call them hip hop, they certainly are not JUST hip hop. I like that one single, "You" (so catchy) but they kinda remind me of.. yeah.. Linkin Park.

Anyway, again, I don't think it's fair to call them a "hip hop" act, do you?

I'd say this is definitely hip hop.

They're really not Linkin-parkish. Unless you think all white rappers sound like Linkin Park.

no the beastie boys don't sound like linkin park and neither does eminem neither does buck 65

i saw atmosphere perform a few songs with a full band; just because he raps doesn't make it hip hop i think they borrow from several genres, hmm

they seem to use actual instruments too..
