The TTC Subway Turns 50

The TTC

She's always been there for me.  As a child, she would take me to Carlton station to watch a Maple Leafs game or Dundas station to visit the Eaton Centre.  The Dufferin bus was always there when I had tickets to a Blue Jays game at Exhibition Stadium but the Bathurst streetcar was suffice too.  Working at the CNE for three years, the express bus from Dundas West station made the most sense.  Wherever I had to go, she could take me there.  In the years before I owned a car, we were extremely close.  Daily rides to and from Islington station for high school, St. George and Queens Park station for university, the Dufferin bus to the grocery store when I couldn't bike and exits at the Yonge/Bloor stop for flicks at the Uptown theatre.  My memories of her are rich and varied.  She's always been there for me when I needed her.

Today, she's 50 years young.  Have a gander at her photo album.  She's not perfect, but she's ours.
