If you haven't yet sent me a piece of audio for episode 400, today's the last day.

Heck, even Beatts did it!

Easy instructions here:

If you have any problems doing this, let me know and I will do my best to help!

November 16, 2018 @ 8:26 AM

Well, so I'm not first. It was hard finding this one again. Good thing I found it. My Habs won. That's great. That's because we all know the Habs are the best. Also my Coyotes won. Yes, it was a great hockey night for sure. We all know the Habs and Coyotes will make the finals. Well, postal workers still on this rotating strike garbage. Something really has to be done. My birthday is in less than a month. Come on. Unions are so stupid. They go on strike to hurt the public. That's what they do. This is the worst postal strike ever. We had them before, but never so close to my birthday and Christmas. Okay, Justin Trudeau, you don't care about us. If you did, you would say enough is enough and legislate them back to work. Well, you obviously don't care about us so guess what, Justin. I don't care about you either. I never did vote for you and I never will because you obviously don't believe about legislating these stupid unions back to work. Well, your kids' presents will get stuck in the mail is what will happen.

November 16, 2018 @ 8:26 AM

I take offense to "Heck even Beatts did it!" lol

November 16, 2018 @ 8:30 AM

Cheryl hates unions so much she refuses to step foot in Union station.

If Beatts can do it, you can do it!

I know Brian and Milon (sponsors of my podcast) really only listen to episodes featuring sports media peeps, but I think my personal favourite episodes are those with musicians I really enjoy.

This week I was lucky enough to record a great two hours with Lowest of the Low and 105 minutes with Tom Wilson. I'm still riding the high from these episodes. I really hope even the sports media crowd gives them a listen.

November 16, 2018 @ 8:47 AM

Beatts - don't worry, even I sent one in. Now Mike knows my real name :'(

November 16, 2018 @ 9:00 AM

@JJ Mike and are long past that point. We've already exchanged dick pics. Despite all his shortcoming's I still support him and his passion project.

November 16, 2018 @ 9:06 AM

The apostrophe on shortcomings was purposely added in homage to his past pics.

November 16, 2018 @ 9:08 AM

Beatts - loooooool, you are too much.

November 16, 2018 @ 9:39 AM

Sorry, but I regrettably can't join in on your photographic Lower Appendage 'Games'. Absolutely no one, and I truly do mean no one, needs or wants to see my unfortunate lower-half Human Ken Doll situation!! #ChildhoodMaimingAccident!

November 16, 2018 @ 9:43 AM

@Mike, I realized I never said which episodes I love the best! Still the same ones: Elvis, 1236, and Retrontario! And so cool that I got to meet them in person at the TMXLs!

November 16, 2018 @ 10:10 AM

"Beatts - loooooool, you are too much."

Mike must have shown you my pic.

November 16, 2018 @ 10:26 AM

Jason from Sudbury

I also sent in a recording and as Mike said, it was all killer no filler! You guys will either love me, hate me, or a bit of both. lol

November 16, 2018 @ 11:51 AM

I don't think there will be a Super Bowl cake for that 3-6 Cleveland NFL team. Cheryl will have to settle for watching YouTube highlights of all their past Super Bowl appearances. Oh, wait, there aren't any. Maybe she could explain this TV commercial. Why does the little kid have to pay electricity bills? What do awkward dancing and a talking dog have to do with anything? If he was made the team's head coach, would Solar Dog know enough to just attempt the game-winning field goal instead of throwing a game-losing interception?

The Raiders may be the worst team in the NFL (with their only win against Cleveland) and still don't know where they will be playing their home games in 2019, but at least there's an obvious intention of tanking and trading away their best players for draft choices, hoping to be competitive when they move into the new stadium in Las Vegas.

November 16, 2018 @ 11:55 AM

@Toronto Mike,

FWIW I'm waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more into the musician episodes. Tom Wilson & Lowest of the Low were awesome. But fuck, Moe Berg is literally a hero to me. As much as I enjoy sports, I've never cared about the analysis. But I still like those episodes as "human interest stories".

Speaking of human interest, anyone got a job for an IT Manager-type? :P

I'm still creating content that I'd consume, so there will always be sports media episodes (because I've always loved sports) and music episodes (because I've always loved music).

Throw in CityTV folks, radio hosts and regular visits from 12:36, Retrontario and Elvis, and you've pretty much got Toronto Mike'd.

So something for everyone, I'd say... with the odd format breaker thrown in the mix. Think the Tom Thomson ep, for example.

November 16, 2018 @ 1:20 PM

More format breaker episodes are always a good idea. Consider this an unsolicited opinion from the
(very) cheap seats!! (P.S., the more left field the better.)

November 16, 2018 @ 1:45 PM

I loved the Raymi the Minx episode back in the day.

I agree. Heck, #400 will be a format breaker. As will the roundtable on December 7. And I still need to do that Lakeshore Psychiatric Hospital Cemetery ep!

November 16, 2018 @ 2:23 PM

Looking forward to that psychiatric cemetery episode (good time to use either that Headstones track
or Pantera's "Cemetery Gates!" Plus, it might give me a little bit of background info on that kind of
locked-in 'lifestyle', as I sadly feel things heading in that particular direction sooner rather than
later! Oh, and one more musical suggestion for that upcoming episode: "Mama Weer All Crazee
Now" by either Slade or Quiet Riot!!

November 16, 2018 @ 2:31 PM

This is from 1971. "By the time we grow up, the metric system will probably be official". Or maybe not there in the U.S., 47 years later.

November 16, 2018 @ 2:39 PM

Franklin from Peanuts is a very underrated character. After all, it can't always be about Chuck!
P.S., nice to see Peppermint Patty without her constant, nagging 'beard' Marcie!!!

November 16, 2018 @ 2:45 PM

This St. Michaels school hazing is very disturbing. The school knew about it on Monday with 1st video, a 2nd video on Tues & a 3rd on Wed. & that's when they contacted police. Criminal acts were done & the school was going to "look after the situations?". I have an idea what was done in 1st video as my freind went to St. Mikes in early 80's playing football & went through probably the same hazing then as he told me today. He said "my rectum bled for 3-4 days". Put 1 & 1 together (it was a vegetable). Sickening.

Is this what you are looking for?
Funny you mention Rosie, I was on the 407 last week heading to Markham and some how ended up with the Region on my radio, and heard Rosie broadcasting.
Have to apologise Mike, I meant to do a recording but with the snow storm and a couple of 12 hour days, just couldn't get around to contributing to #400.

Just wanted to vent somewhere, and it's a bit topical.

The St. Mike's hazing thing, holy fuck I'm a man in my late 30s, and somehow it triggered such intense feelings and memories. I'm literally bawling uncontrollably and so glad my wife/partner-for-life happens to be out.

I never got sexually assaulted, but for fuck's sake I have no idea what the fuck made me such a target as a child. I was bullied intensely from grades 1-8. I was a small kid for so long and I guess that was all it took. I can't describe the intense despair and how scared I was of everything for so long. It definitely affects me and my personality to this day.

The only saving grace, a couple of good strong kids physically defended me sporadically when they were aware of it. They were bigger than typical for the age, and somehow got the memo that beating the fuck out of a shrimp is not cool.

I went to an out-of-district highschool, but between grades 9 and 10 I finally hit puberty and grew to over 6' so no one ever bothered me again. And I was basically a lucky one.

November 16, 2018 @ 10:19 PM

Well, my Nets won last night. Great game. They're winning. If my Cavs don't make the finals, my Nets will. You're right I hate unions. All they do is hurt the public. Postal workers have until midnight tonight to accept the offer. They haven't accepted it yet and they won't. Justin Trudeau doesn't care. He's just letting this go on and on. My birthday is less than a month away. Postal workers aren't allowed to go on strike in the US, but they're allowed to go out as long as they want here. Well, Habs and Coyotes will win tonight. My Nets and Suns will also win. That would be great.

November 17, 2018 @ 7:05 AM

Hmmm, maybe we concerned citizens should try to organize some kind of benefit for those
poor wildcat striking postal workers? You know, maybe try to convince that early Aughts, 'one-hit'
super(!) group The Postal Service to reform just for one evening?! "Such Great Heights", what a
great fookin' track!! Really hope these cats get their act together real soon, 'cause I'd hate to think
of those 600 trailers full of unsorted mail and packages not reaching their intended targets before
the holiday season(s). (So inclusive!)

November 17, 2018 @ 9:41 AM

For all of us suckers who go to work each and every day, there is a guy named Jeffery Csima from Woodbridge who get this has won 3x in the last 4 months on PROLINE POOLS dating back in March 2018 for a total of $1.3M. Anyone who has played the POOLS game knows how hard it is to pick winners.

& if u look at OLG winners over $1000, this guy just recently cashed in for over $100K again.

This guy is better than those sports handicappers. Wonder what his system is?

November 17, 2018 @ 12:09 PM

Legendary novelist and screenwriter William Goldman passed away at the age of 85 yesterday.
Among his notable film scripts were "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid", "Marathon Man",
"All the President's Men", and "The Princess Bride." The second and third of those scripts
were based on his original novels. He also did a lot of uncredited ghostwriting and consulting
on many popular films. R.I.P.

November 17, 2018 @ 1:56 PM

Sorry, Mr. Goldman was actually 87 years old at the time of his passing.

November 17, 2018 @ 2:02 PM

Brian Gerstein (Raptors Devotee

JJ, it is called boxing, meaning that Jeffery Csima does not have to be that great a handicapper, just able to put down tons of $ for a pool where he only has to win a small number of games, and counts in big upsets so the pool increases to make it worthwhile for him. He plays both sides of most games maybe leaving 2 or 3 games to bet one side on.

In addition to that, he will structure it so that the games that are bet on if possible are the later games i.e. Sunday or Monday night, so depending on how many upsets there are, and I am using the NFL as an example, since this is the most lucrative, he will hedge one or both of those games, even if he does not have it boxed, as you are able to estimate what the payoff will be within reason.

It is not for the faint of heart to do it. I rarely play, but if I do, I box a maximum of 4 games for $80, so for me to compete against this guy, I have to be perfect, not easy to do needless to say.

Likely he is part of a syndicate with many people putting $ in, and only his name is represented, but that may not be the case. It is not easy to bet and cover all of the combos too, a lot of running around store to store in order to do so.

November 17, 2018 @ 2:55 PM

We always hear about the winnings, but how much has Jeffery Csima lost in the past as that is the problem with gambling.

November 17, 2018 @ 5:11 PM

Anyway It's Saturday night and the Leafs don't play. What is up with that anyway. What are my kids going to do tonight?no Leaf game.Gary Bettmen should have the Leafs playing like they do every other Saturday night.I bet Bettmen does not care cause he probably does not have any kids.He should have looked at the schedule Tuesday or Wednesday and seen that the Leafs were not playing then he could have switched some games around so the Leafs would be playing tonight but he dosent care I know that anyway.Like there is nothing happening at the Air Canada senter tonight anyway people could be working and make money.I hate Bettmen.

November 17, 2018 @ 6:14 PM

Rick C in Oakville

@ Brian Gerstein, thanks for the explanation. Like the stock market, gambling/odds are not in my Scottish DNA, other than the tax on stupid (Lotto 6/49 etc.).
My sisters ex is a heavy gambler , and yes you only hear of his successes, and not the major losses he incurred while they were married. Just like marijuana, he relied more on his bookie for placing bets than the governments proline.
@Jim, the Leafs should play every Saturday, bet the NHL watched ratings are heavily supported by Leafs viewers. Bettman spurns Canadian hockey, his focus is too USA slanted in my opinion.

I wonder if the reason the Leafs are not budging with Nylander is because they were able to get Kadri and O'Reilly to sign such awful (for the players), team friendly extensions.

Things aren't going to be so easy with Nylander, Marner and Matthews and I hope the team is ready to be reasonable instead of digging their heels in the sand.

November 17, 2018 @ 7:43 PM

Yes, I understand. I was very small and poorly sighted with glasses all through my school years. I was bullied, beaten, teased and ridiculed the entire time. I was alone, afraid, friendless, and I hated school and childhood.

Though most of it is long forgotten, I still carry some of those scars at 54 years old. I try to tell myself the old story is history, but the effects still linger on from time to time. It took me decades to get my act together and take control of my life because I believed those old events were a true reflection of my self-worth.

November 17, 2018 @ 8:16 PM

Well, my Habs played last night. Your kids could have watched a good team, my Habs. They won. That's great. Carey Price is back to his original form. The Price is right. My Coyotes lost though. That's not good. Basketball wasn't good last night. My Nets almost won, but then they had a bad fourth quarter and blew the game. That's no good. My Suns also lost again. Why can't they win? I heard nothing more about the postal strike. They probably rejected it. It will go on and on and it's so close to the holidays and closer to my birthday. Come on Justin Trudeau, my birthday is in a bit over three weeks on December 12 and then there is Christmas. Justin Trudeau, you have to legislate them back to work. You really do. This strike has lasted long enough. Do something, Justin Trudeau. I didn't even vote for you and I never will.

November 18, 2018 @ 8:17 AM

Here's a quick and humble tip regarding a cheap way to get over a pesky sinus situation: Go to the
Toronto Reference Library at around 1:20 on a Sunday afternoon (ten minutes before opening) and
just allow the so fine, fragrant stank to quickly permeate throughout your troubled nostrils. And thus, the rest will simply take care of itself! Sure, so now I can clearly breathe again, but lingering remnants of those nasty vapours still remain!!

November 18, 2018 @ 2:17 PM

Cheryl Traub

I don't know why my last name popped up again. Oh well, it's Monday. Bad things can happen on a Monday, right? Dayhs don't matter to me anymore as I'm not working. Well, my Ravens won yesterday. Good for them. My Cardinals almost won, but lost in the last few fricken seconds. A field goal in the last few seconds. Well, my Cavs and Suns better win tonight. They need to win. Postal strike, nothing has changed. Trudeau is sitting on his ass doing nothing. They probably rejected it and so here we go again, another week of this nonsense and they will probably shut down Toronto again. Come on. My birthday is in three weeks. Justin Trudeau, I will never ever vote for you.

November 19, 2018 @ 7:25 AM

Cheryl's NFL teams have now given the Raiders both of their wins, though at this point of the season the only thing being decided for those teams is the order of draft choices.

@bsmntdwllr73 -- Luckily for me now, since I dumped cable TV for home internet about 4 or 5 years ago, the only times I go to a library are a few times a years when I have to print something, usually at the High Park, Runnymede, or Bloor/Gladstone branches. Back when I made more frequent visits for everything home dial-up internet was incapable of handling, oddly (as it seemed to be a slightly more 'upscale' neighbourhood) it was the Runnymede one that invariably seemed to always have homeless persons wandering around randomly yelling, or leaving a noxious smell behind on a chair in front a computer long after they had left. But since it closed then reopened after renovations, I haven't seen them.
For me, the worst smelling part of the city was always the stockyards area near George Bell Arena (S.E. of Keele/St. Clair), though I haven't been there recently. It would still be in my nose the next day.

November 19, 2018 @ 8:23 AM

Kudos to @Jim for the spot on impersonation :)

November 19, 2018 @ 8:34 AM

bsmntdwllr73 - I am sorry your library smells :( mine does not, it has a lot of kids who are sometimes too noisy - and I want to tell them to pipe down, but I am afraid they'd beat me up.

Meanwhile, my Raps are doing ok but I am applying cautious optimism here.

November 19, 2018 @ 1:35 PM

Greg Reeves the principal of St. Mikes has to quit on his own or be fired. Watched his media conference & he was lost. He knows he F'D up but trying to cover his @$$. He had a video early Monday & didn't release to police until Wed.
A shameless event of circumstances & principal did NOTHING.
Love to see there enrollment next year.

Greg your are just as responsible for this are those charged.

November 19, 2018 @ 6:21 PM

Neil Clarke Warren

@andrew Greg Reeves will Never quit on his own.
Yes,he will be fired and then threaten to sue for wrongful dismissal.
St. Mikes will in no way want more and more media coverage which may drag on for years..
Bottom line He will get paid a ton of $$$ to move to a 3 million dollar home on a quiet lake up north and keep his mouth SHUT...and be very rich.

November 19, 2018 @ 8:29 PM

@Neil Clarke Warren

R U thinking what I'm currently thinking that he knew about all previous B 4 this started. He was a derrin the headlights with his media conference as very evident when he left the podium.
He may be as guilty as the those who have been arrested.

November 19, 2018 @ 8:53 PM

Neil Clarke Warren

@ andrew well very possible but that would be speculation. One thing I would bet on is that some High profile scuzzball lawyer has chatted with him and they were not talkin' about the Leafs,

November 20, 2018 @ 3:00 AM

Well, everyone lost last night. My Cavs, Suns, and Habs all lost. My Habs and Suns were winning, but they both blew it. It really really sucks. Well, guess what. Canada Post is going to be on strike right into next year. Last ditch efforts have been exhausted. This means no mail or very little if any. Honestly, I hate Justin Trudeau. I would never vote for that creep. I hate him. He does nothing. He should be legislating them back to work now, but he's not. It's my birthday in three weeks from tomorrow. This really sucks. I hate Justin Trudeau.

November 20, 2018 @ 5:44 AM

Glad to hear that your home library branch has a much friendlier aroma, but as an elite library-promiscuous savant, sad to say, but I hit up far too many branches not to run into this particular
unseemly issue on a near-daily basis. Can't help but feel even worse for the poor staff who are
largely kept in one main spot for most of their shifts. At least I have the benefit of bailing when it
becomes too Hard To Handle (Otis!). Sure wish Fabreze or Lysol would kick in with some much-needed corporate sponsorship and thus charitably supply a lifetimes' worth of (free) aerosol plug-ins,
or at least provide a legion of patented light-fixtures that time release pleasant smells every ten minutes or so!!

November 20, 2018 @ 10:19 AM

bsmntdwllr73 - I feel ya, unpleasant smells are the worst. the staff have hearts of gold, and noses of steel. Maybe some kind soul will begin to leave air fresheners around, so everyone can breathe in some nice stuff!

November 20, 2018 @ 12:24 PM

Great idea, but I truly don't think that there is actually enough aerosol spray in the world, either free
or donated, to successfully accomplish that Herculean task!! Most libraries situated above Yonge and
Eglinton are largely free (for the most part) of such olfactory unpleasantness.

November 20, 2018 @ 12:30 PM

Urooj Islam

Wait, so Apollo Creed's son is fighting Ivan Drago's son in Creed II?

Wow, it's like bad fan fiction come to life.

Stallone has outdone himself this time.

November 20, 2018 @ 3:19 PM

@Urooj Islam
Personally looking forward to Creed III in which Creed Jr. takes on Clubber Lang's suspiciously
masculine-looking daughter Clubette!!! (Cluberina?!?)

On another cinematic note, I belatedly saw "Bohemian Rhapsody" the other day and was somewhat
disappointed. Great first 45 minutes (pre-fame) and the denouement involves a nice recreation
of their classic Live Aid performance, but overall it felt like a scrubbed down, extra-long Behind
The Music episode. Queen might be the best pound for pound talent band of all time (all four wrote
multiple hit songs), but you wouldn't necessarily know that from this film. Much more to this band
than F. Mercury. In fact, four of my six fave Queen tracks were written by other members of the
group. And in any other band Roger Taylor is both the main focal point and lead vocalist. Something to seriously consider. Plus, this film's timeline is totally conflated and completely out
of whack. "Fat Bottomed Girls" is performed on their first U.S, tour in '74, didn't actually come out
to late 1978. #NitpickerNumeroUno!!

And not that anyone is actually interested, but here are my six favourite Queen tracks:
#1. "We Are the Champions" (F. Mercury)
#2." It's Late" (Brian May)
#3. "Flash" (Brian May)
#4. "Spread Your Wings" (John Deacon)
#5. "Princes of the Universe" (F. Mercury)
#6. "Fun It" (Roger Taylor)

November 20, 2018 @ 3:36 PM

bsmntdwllr73 - my library is definitely above that Yonge and Eg line. I want to see the movie too, but I haven't made any time for a solo movie in ages. I think we'd have gotten a more intense version if Sacha Baron Cohen had done it. But yeah, I think a lot of people see Freddie as Queen (myself even) but obviously, he isn't the whole band!

November 20, 2018 @ 3:41 PM

For most of the last 15 years, I've largely seen movies stag. And yeah, Mr. Borat might have made
for a better Freddie. That dude from Mr. Robot better resembles and moves somewhat more like (Mick) Jagger! I guess my problem is that since music is my thing, I know far too much inside baseball-
type info and it kind of gets in the way of overlooking all of the liberties taken, especially when two
of the surviving band members were very involved with that film's troubled production. Queen is
probably my favourite British act after Elton John (and Mr. Taupin, most obviously!!), so I can't help
but be so anal (no puns intended whatsoever, here!!)regarding my reaction to B.R..

November 20, 2018 @ 3:55 PM

Cheryl Traub

Well, my Nets won last night. Maybe they'll win the NBA championship. There will be a Nets cake at my party if they do. Well, sure hope my Cavs, Suns, Coyotes and Habs all win tonight. Postal strike, nothing new there. Three weeks from today is my birthday, but obviously, Justin Trudeau doesn't care about my birthday. Well, hope his kids' presents all get stuck in the mail. That's what will happen. Justin Trudeau's kids will have presents get stuck in the mail and so will the striking postal workers and their kids have stuff stuck in the mail as well. Let's see how they like it. Then maybe they will just suck it up and go back to work. I mean these postal workers were offered a $1000.00 signing bonus. I mean a fricken bonus and they don't want their bonus. I mean that's extra fricken money. Okay, the union is so stupid. Justin Trudeau's kids will be complaining that they didn't get their presents and what will Justin do? Absolutely nothing.

November 21, 2018 @ 7:26 AM

bsmntdwllr73 - my sister saw it, and she wasn't a fan - she said it came across as if Freddie was kinda the reason they split once he went solo (even though someone else in the band had gone solo before him with no issues) and that it didn't seem like the Freddie in the movie was similar to Freddie in real life.

I don't blame you, if I loved a band as passionately as you did, I would want a good representation of them if there was a film to be made. Hard to escape into a movie when you know the facts. It's why I end up loving the books more than movies that are made! Like I don't care for the Harry Potter movies, because I read the books a few times each and you cannot make the movie more magical than the books.

November 21, 2018 @ 9:11 AM

I was in my late twenties when the first few Potter flicks came out and so after the fifth film
I tired of the series and never saw the remainder of the series. Just wasn't my thing. Needless
to say I've skipped those latest cash-cow spinoff movies as well. Something about that Eddie
Redmayne just creeps me out!! Still quite surprised to see at least several 'seasoned' adults
reading the original books on public transit at least a couple of times per week.

And as for Bohemian Tragedy(!), if the film had truly been a warts and all portrayal (no obvious
cruel humour intended here), it would have received an" X" rating. Moreover, audiences would have been 'force fed' both Penicillin and various STD treatments just to be safe while exiting theatres!

November 21, 2018 @ 9:27 AM

Joey Wasaga

I am starting to think Cheryl Traub and NDP leader Angry Horwath are the same person.
They both do nothing but complain & complain every single day.

November 21, 2018 @ 10:18 AM

"Angry" Howarth would totally make for a great wrasslin' handle if that is where her passions
take her once those heady politicking days are through!! Maybe our former Premier would
even consider throwin' down with her in the square circle?!? After all, she's in terrific shape.
P.S., not to take anything away from that all-time-legendary 1970s sporting event, but it would
most definitely need to be called "The Thrilla In Vanilla"!!

November 21, 2018 @ 10:27 AM

bsmntdwllr73 - the books are always better! and i loved reading them, and if i had time i would re read them again I think. As an adult, sometimes I love to read stuff that was from my childhood (like Enid Blyton!), in fact I just picked one up from the hospital book sale the other day. Sucker for nostalgia.

And yes, my sister said some parts seemed too tame. In fact, Carlo Rota has a story about how Freddie invited him over, expecting some good times - and when Carlo politely declined, I think he got fired from his job! So yeah, it probably could've gone rated R ;)

November 21, 2018 @ 11:25 AM

Gotta love that Noddy!! About Carlo Rota, yeah I've heard him tell that Freddie story several
times over the years. Mr. Fahrenheit probably wasn't used to being turned down once he hit
the big time!!

bsmntdwllr73 - I take great joy in knowing that I made my friend think Mr Pinkwhistle was kinda a perv! I love that story, Carlos tells it so well, I bet Freddy hadn't heard no in a while.

My favorite Queen song is Fat Bottom Girls.
Haven't seen the movie, and probably won't, as peeling the layers off of an onion sometimes reveals more than a fan needs.
Even in the late 80's the rockers had a sense of Freddie Mercury' s personal preference, we only cared about his music.

Guess it is a good thing, then, that Brian May wrote "Fat Bottomed Girls" and not Ready Freddie,
otherwise that song would have turned out having a very different lyrical bent!!!

"Mr. Pinkwhistle's" name alone would totally have all sorts of other connotations in this day and age if he were a freshly-created kids' lit character!!! Plus, I could totally see that persnickety old dude proudly rockin' his dad bod at a certain parade early next summer!!!

Nobody ever got seriously injured at a Tom Jones or Andrea Bocelli concert, just sayin'!!
Well, maybe only slightly discombobulated in that mad rush of seasoned ladies aiming to throw their
stylish roomy bloomers on stage!!! (and how the hell did a proud former(?) gangbanger like Pusha T ever manage to get into this country in the first place?!?)

-The Queen music I think of is the side ("Side Black") of the Queen II album, with Ogre Battle, March of The Black Queen, Funny How Love Is, etc., I suppose because it was how I became familiar with them as a kid from hearing my older brother play the record repeatedly, and the combining of prog and heavy rock has always been what appeals most to me. They had already moved away from that by the time I finally saw them at the CNE Grandstand in 1980.
I probably won't bother seeing the movie, as I am not much of a movie person, or a fan of any form dramatic fiction (high school English was by far the subject I disliked most). I will eagerly watch good documentaries about subjects like space flight or the Titanic, or 'Behind The Music' and 'Classic Album' series, but I have zero interest in sitting through actors prancing around in fictionalized/dramatized movie or TV versions.

-With the constant cost-cutting at Bell Media properties, I wonder if they might consider opting out of TSN's CFL deal. I know they need some live content, but it's hard to imagine anyone else would be willing to pay anything close to what TSN does.

Why is my last name coming up all the time? I want to know. Well, sports was not good last night. My Habs lost. That was no good. Come on Habs. I need you to win. Please win. My Coyotes also lost. Basketball also suck with my Suns, Cavs, and Nets also losing. Postal strike, nothing new there. They're still on strike. Honestly, Justin Trudeau does not care. This strike could go on into next year. Okay Justin, your kids won't get any presents this Christmas because they'll be stuck in the mail, all those mail trailers, so your kids will have to go without presents all because you don't want to be a good daddy and make sure they get their presents. If you were a good daddy, you would have legislated them back to work a long time ago. Oh well, see how your kids like it, Justin or maybe just maybe your kids will get their presents delivered to them by a special limo. Now there's a thought. Okay, so maybe that's what you're doing, Justin. Well, that doesn't help us. My birthday is in 20 days. Do something.

You must have put your last name in there once, and now the cookies are remembering it.

I'm happy to delete it on my end (which I've done) but just know it's only there because you're submitting it that way.

Damn it Mike....

Now you're added YOUR last name to ours.

@Rick C in Oakville the movie was good, you'd probably enjoy it. I will say it's very vanilla and safe, but it was worth the price of admission.

And don't forget the "Seven Seas of Rhye" off Queen II, even if it is a tad on the poppy
side (love that song), but then again, so is "Funny How Love Is" as well!

Forgot to mention above, but good use of the word 'prancing' in your previous comment, as it totally
and accurately applied to the portrayal of Mr. Fahrenheit in "Bohemian Rhapsody!!"

bsmntdwllr73 - Mr Pinkwhistle does Pride, I am so down. Or did you mean Caribana..?!

November 22, 2018 @ 11:22 AM

He could probably personally make an outre yet semi-formal outfit appropriate for both events! #sothrifty!!

Yeah, this is getting weird.

I predicted the Principal of St. Mikes would either resign or be fired 2 days ago.
The bastard & president both resigned today. Good riddance.

@Urooj dwllr73
Quite flattered that you have partially adopted my handle, but I must warn you that it is quite
dank, lonely and with the bonus of perennial guaranteed poverty in Mr. bsmnt's broke-ass neighbourhood!!! (It's like the Hotel California of west end Toronto, but without that excellent
guitar work and light Reggae overtones!).

55 years ago today JFK was assassinated & I will never forget. In Grade 3 getting supplies for my teacher at Principals office when his wife called him telling the news. He was crying & a few minutes later he went on PA system telling everyone what happened.
For those that are younger this precedent made live TV what it is now with Lee Harvey killed also.

A day of infamy & never forget.
