I recall Bubba during his 'Cogeco Channel 23' days in Burlington-Oakville, also featuring a younger (obviously) Gareth Wheeler.

BUBBA is an understatement. Bubba's drinking more than a 6 pack.

Great podcast.
John Saunders (God rest his soul) from Toronto was 1 of best sportscasters during the 80-90's.
Suneel Joshi (City Tv & later CTV) was also great & then was let go.
How many Black or "different colour" personalities are hosts for Radio sports media in Toronto?

The sports media and broadcast media certainly doesn't reflect the population of the city, huge disconnect between walking on the streets and seeing who's on TV.

I don't live in Toronto and am not a fan of its heralded and God-crafted teams, but the lack of cultural diversity among the media cheerleaders, I mean broadcasters, is so obvious it's got to be on purpose.

I haven't listened yet but recall Bubba doing the Ti Cat games on Cogeco, quite the character. Sometimes cool to be associated with smaller centers for sports etc. than be lost in the Toronto wilderness of sports radio.

Listening to Bubba and Foxcroft take calls on Channel 23 from Burlington high school students in the late 90s trash-talking their football opponents was so weird...

Great interview with Bubs. It was nice that he had kind words for Hebsy. When Mark was suspended from CH a few years ago, there were unsubstantiated rumours, that it was due to a major disagreement between them. If the rumours were true, it sounds like the hatchet was buried long ago.
Also, you mentioned the departure of Jill Colton from CP24. Judging by her twitter account, it appears she has abandoned broadcasting to become a right wing U.S. political pundit. Weird!

Bubba is like a wrestling gimmick; all sizzle no steak.
