Two Prime Ministers
Who's in charge here? Last time I checked my grade nine history book, the person who leads the party holding a majority in the House of Commons is Prime Minister of Canada. At this moment, that person is Jean Chrétien. On November 14th, that person will become Paul Martin. All seems clear, right? Then why is Chrétien waiting until late February to retire?
What we have here is essentially a nation with two leaders. As I've often said to Taryn, when both of us are watching James, nobody is watching James. Without a clear Prime Minister running the show, we as a nation are paralyzed. This is a dangerous scenario for a so-called democratic nation.
Please Mr. Chrétien, put your ego aside and concede full power to Martin on November 15th. The True North, strong and free depends on it.
