Toronto Mike You should have flown in... it's worth the flight. For the record, I'm currently tied in first place. Now that our picks are out of the way, I'll share my thoughts on the first round. Hopefully I'm not too wrong. :) Bruins over MON in 5 WAS over NYR in 6 NJ over CAR in 6 PHI over PIT in 7 ANA over SAN in 7 DET over CLM in 7 VAN over STL in 6 CHI over CAL in 5 Jason - have you forwarded this and your resume to TSN? Jesus Christ man, I hope you got paid by the word. Lamster Way off on the Flames...GO FLAMES GO!!! I can't trash talk to the guys who posted earlier...too much to scroll up. Patino, you take a Canuck at #2 (high pick) and three blues towards the end?? Did u forget they were playing eachother? Toronto Mike Patino was cleverly hedging his bets. He's in the lead and possibly only shedding a few late pick Blues. Steve's also riding the Canucks train to early-lead-ville. Jason and Lamster are in serious trouble. As for me, don't you worry your pretty little head's about it... when the Sharks awaken from their slumber, I'll be just fine. Sorry Marc. Your great #10 pick of Huntwick isn't looking so great. It's looking like a Bruins / Detroit final, so Marc is looking good imo. The way DET is playing, I'm not sure there is a team in the west that can knock them off. If ya took a risk on the Rangers like me.... Ouch. Tuesday isn't looking like a good bet for the lackluster Rangers.... Oh Well, here is to SJ pushing the series to 7..... More importantly, I see Lamster's at 22 points with one player remaining, and that guy could get eliminated tonight. That would give Lamster the lowest point total in modern playoff pool history. Thanks, Lamster!!!!!! I Am Jack's smirking revenge. Toronto Mike How the hell did the Devils blow that game? At least I won't finish last. Well, 6 out of 8 predications isn't bad. I knew NJ/CAR was going to be close but the end of that game was fairly dramatic. Toronto Mike What's with neither Felice losing a player in the first round. There hasn't been familial success like that since Wayne and Brent Gretzky set the brother scoring record. Anonymous It's between Steve, Pops and Marc in my opinon.. with Jason having an outside shot if Chi upsets Vancouver. Lamster Good times while it lasted...good luck to all!!! One good thing came out of this pool for Mike, he's not going to be last this year... Patino, you have a good shot at this as well..... Actually, I'm really liking Marc's silent philosophy of choosing two teams only. Damn, why did anyone else not pick up on it so we could block him? I am the one who noticed the Black hawks were all Canes, I am the one who noticed that a player was missing from the list. Could someone else not have caught this one? You are all a bunch of self-obsessed A-holes!!! Especially you..... You know who you are!!!!!!!! Toronto Mike There seems to be a correlation between drafting position and success. I noticed this trend last year, and it's continued into this year. By drafting early, you get a very good player, on a good team. Then, you start to augment that pick with other good players from the same team. Those who draft late, have less options for pick #1, and this adversely affects future picks. Pops and Marc drafted #1 and #2 respectively. They are in great shape. Lamster and I got shit picks, and will finish in the toilet. I'm sick and tired of drafting last. Enough is enough. Keaton always said, "I don't believe in God, but I'm afraid of him." Well I believe in God, and the only thing that scares me is Marc Felice. Mike, Dennis Wideman has 6 pts and you have only given him 5. Please correct my brother from the same mother!! Mike, can you please give Guerin an extra point from 6 to 7. Not your fault, they added an assist after the game last night. I think they changed it so you might want to check out the point totals. Props to Jason for taking a risk on 6 Blackhawks. I think this makes you the favorite buddy.... But Pops and Patino are not far behind. Toronto Mike Since Alexi's letting me park in his driveway for the next two months, I'm awarding him 10 extra points. Cool? Jason Wow, it looks good for me. Hey, I know this is a bold prediction, but I think Chicago will actually win the cup this year. Most people think they can't take DET, but after the way they undressed Luongo (who is excellent), Osgood is going to look like garbage. CHI is infinitely more deep than both PIT and CAR, therefore, CHI wins the cup. You heard it here first! Toronto Mike If Chicago wins the cup, the Leafs will finally own the longest Stanley Cup drought in NHL history! This may be close.... I'm not in it, but i'm still following. Does that make me loyal to the pool or just very, very lonely and bored???? Jason Great, I spoke too soon, I thought I'd have a small lead by now. I guess it's Malkin vs Franzen vs Hossa down the stretch. Sigh. Alexi has SIX players left and no chance of winning. Lambster picked teams that didn't advance - Alexi just picked shitty players. Strong arguement that Alexi doesn't have a fucking clue. Toronto Mike Alexi did have the good sense to draft Crosby first, a Grade A pick. Lamster went with Cammalleri, a solid C pick, no matter how you slice it. Alexi's picks were interesting. But any way you slice it he picked a better squad that Lamster. I'm still hoping for a 30 pt game from Zett, Letang and Guerin. GO BOONER GO!!!!! (nice job Patino) Alexi? The worst? I'm only 9 points behind Pops, with 6 players left. If all my pens have an amazing game 7 I could end up in second, exactly where I've finished 2 of the last 4 pools. So I think its fair to say that I'm decent, or at the very least, that I'm 38 points better then Elvis. |
