Pearl Jam - The Fixer

slsI'm submitting a song for SLS22 consideration. I'm submitting "The Fixer" by Pearl Jam.

This catchy mofo from one of my favourite bands is a shoe-in for SLS, but I've got more pressing PJ issues to iron out.

As documented on my Pearl Jam in Toronto page, I've caught a Pearl Jam show the last 6 times they've come through town. And yes, I'm counting the '98 show in Barrie as a local performance. That means I haven't missed a Toronto Pearl Jam gig since September '96.

I didn't buy a ticket for the upcoming show at the Amphitheatre, as I had a hook-up. When Yoda chose John Mellancamp over Eddie, a second hook-up materialized and I was set. Now, it's looking like that one will fall through as well.

Is there a third hook-up possibility out there?

Brutal lyrics but a great tune. I heard a 10 second clip of a track called "amongst the waves" that has a wicked sound.

I would post how I feel bad that you can't get tickets but my summer plans were for a PJ concert in Toronto and a blue jays game combo but I couldn't get the vacation time when 10c tickets went on sale but of course now the time is available but I can't go.

Now I feel bad, b/c my first hook up is reemerging. Mellancamp actually lost out to Vedder, and no, I don't expect anyone to know what that means except maybe my bros.

Looks like I'll be at the show.

I wasn't sure about The Fixer the first time I heard it. It has since grown on me.

And I too have seen them at every show in Toronto (including Barrie) since Maple Leaf Gardens in 96. Add to that one in Albany, NY and one in Mansfield, MA, and one in Kitchener and two in St. John's, NL. Plus two Eddie Vedder solo shows here, and two in Albany. (I just realized - that's a lot of shows.) And I still can't wait till next weekend and the release of the new album. I will fully admit that I have an addiction.
