"Is your finger your penis?" LMAO

I see nothing wrong with your speech. I can't say I'm surprised by your in laws reaction though, especially after you got in trouble for using his first name.

BTW I am curious, when did you and Elvis actually meet in person?

BTW what is the intro song you guys use?

@Matt

Elvis and I met in 2006. That's quite the story unto itself!

Great speech! I'm glad Monica enjoyed it because it was sweet and funny.

Great episode but I think the opening song was a little quiet compared to the talking.

@Matt

The opening song is "C'mon C'mon" by The Von Bondies.

@Lyle Lanley

I reduced the music input volume based on bad advice from Elvis. I'll have it all fixed up by the next episode of Toronto Mike'd.

That speech is pretty tame but if you're living in denial about your 31 year old daughter being a virgin lots of things are going to offend you.

I want to hear Humble's speech.

@ Toronto Mike

Never take audio advice from non audio people ;) It's like taking stock picks from your barber.

No offense Elvis :)

Cheers,
Andrew

My barber suggests I put all my money into this can't-miss venture... it's called Bre-X I think...

That sucked...glad the wedding was a success.

My father-in-law was the one with the sex jokes during his speech at my wedding...it was awkward.

The levels seemed better.

@ Mike

I maybe old fashioned but your comments were very inappropriate.
I can understand Monica's side of the family being disturbed. It was a day to celebrate a new life together for everyone there & not a time discuss personal feelings.

That's a speech you should have said at your stag. Mentioning masturbation - in front of your kids? James probably already knows.

What did your Mother think of your & Howard's speech?

Get off your high horse for a second and chill out. My mom is fine with the speeches. Everyone had a blast.

And Blister in the Sun is an ode to masturbation. What's wrong with that?

Oh, Mike.

Your speech was sweet and heartfelt. If someone is REALLY looking to be offended (or insert outrage of the day here), maybe celebrating how great Monica is in the kitchen and bedroom might rattle a chain or two. Again, context is everything.

Too bad Monica's parents felt the need to express their displeasure to her - but the good news is she's a strong person who can put it ALL into context. Listen, I have an uber religious Catholic mother-in-law who still can't get over the fact that her precious son and I lived together before we were married. And we're talking a quarter century here. We can't change those people or their belief systems. Look at that stunning bride of yours and shut the world out - you two are all that matter right now. Everything that is good will come from the strong foundation you two build.

I was about to write fuck the god shit, because I feverently believe that but now have thought better of it :).

Heard your Cheryl thoughts - and am feeling tired and shitty. I'm not going to revisit your podcast thoughts, but c'mon, I can't be altogether wrong - in fact, I'm not. I do, however, take your point.

Mike,

I liked the speech BUT for the sake of the in-laws (out of respect and further peace with them), you shouldn't have mentioned the "bedroom" bit.

I totally get your ring issues. I hate wearing any jewelry and can't wait to take it off when I get home.

I would secretly be thrilled if my bride's speech offended my parents. We don't see eye to eye on politics. It's partially why I get along so famously with Argie, I've heard it all before.

I thought is was a great speech and as a guest I would have loved it! I do however understand that for some people hearing that their daughter is great in the bedroom is uncomfortable. I think you could have left out the masturbation bit and great in the bedroom comments and not compromise your personality and your heartfelt sentiments. My husband, who is not religous or conservative in any way shape or form would not enjoy anyone commenting on his baby girl and her skill in the bedroom...
