Dinner in the Reichstag

Published by Toronto Mike on January 10, 2012 @ 12:03 in Berlin, Germany

picturesThe Reichstag in Berlin is where German parliament (the Bundestag) meets. When they reconstructed it, they added a large glass dome at the very top of the building.

I was lucky enough to have dinner in the Reichstag and that gave me a chance to climb this dome and check out the city from above.

Here's what it looked like inside. Those seats belong to the Bundestag.

Cool pic, but I swear, my brain can't resolve the first picture.

Is it a picture taken from inside, under the dome, looking up? Because it looks like there's someone standing on the ceiling in the upper left corner of the picture.

(Unless you got to meet Darth Vader *AND* Spiderman...)

It's a big glass dome and you climb up it from the inside going around and around. This is a shot from the top inside the dome, looking down to where parliament meets.

Maybe this view will help explain:

Lorne, I am so glad you asked Mike about that first pic.
I was the same way. I looked at that pic for a few minutes, and I still wasn't sure what I was looking at.

Pretty incredble building!

Ah, yes, that makes much more sense now. Thanks, Mike. Cool pictures!

The inside photo looks like an album cover from the early hard rock 80s. Your comment added outside photo (13:27) looks like the same album's backside.
