Don't Panic.... Yet

don't panicYes, the Leafs have lost three in a row. We're on a 2-5-2 slide, one that feels awfully familiar at this time of year. But last I checked we were still holding down a playoff spot, and I last checked 2 minutes ago.

So don't hit the panic button yet. Don't do it. Reimer played a strong game and we did come back in the third to force OT.

panic-button

We'll be fine. Trust me.

I'm much more concerned about Reimer. His only win since coming back was the OT win over Carolina. He needs to return to form if we are going to stay in the hunt.

I didn't see the game, but all this sounds like the familiar yearly refrain.

Interestingly, the colour guy on last night's broadcast suggested the Leafs have more or less settled into the place they should be within the standings, and that their early season luck has now settled into reality.

It was a little tough to hear that, because to me they do look like a much improved team, albeit not lately.

The Laffs are still the biggest joke in pro sports.
Anyone who thinks they are going to the playoffs this year with Brian Burke and Ron Wilson running the team needs their head examined.
Their defence is terrible and now that Kessel has disappeared once again. The team will finish nowhere near the playoffs by the end of January.

I thought Reimer had a good game yesterday. Some bad luck, but a good game.

@ mike - Kessel's disappeared? He had 5 shots on goal last night. He's getting his chances, got 4 points in the past 5 games, and still leads the league in points (tied actually). How has he disappeared?

Reimer had a good game, really? LA's 2 goals in the game and the OT winner were all high to the glove on Reimer. The league knows he is soft there. Just watch how many guys shoot high on him.

Well, who cares about the Leafs. My Habs are a mess. They lost the last two games. They fired Jacques Martin. That was very dumb. They never should have done that.

@ Cheryl

Do you speak French?? Maybe you could help Cunneyworth translate.

Gautier had to go not Martin with the signing of long term contracts the last couple of years, especially Gomez.

I speak a little French. It's not that good though. That was dumb for my Habs to fire Martin. That was a stupid move.

I wasn't panicking until you told me not to. Thanks for jinxing the team AGAIN.

Does anyone else hate it when Jim Hughson and Craig Simpson do the play by play of the leaf games. Give me Joe Bowen anytime. Hughson and Simpson put you to sleep.
