Remembering John McDonald and Aaron Hill

bluejaysJohn McDonald and Aaron Hill have been traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks for second baseman Kelly Johnson.

We all love McDonald, but he's a veteran utility infielder, and Aaron Hill was beloved until he stopped hitting. Let's remember Johnny Mac and Aaron Hill via these two entries from the archives.

Johnny Mac will be back if not as a player at 37 yrs. old but in some capacity.

Probably 1 of the best players ever for the BJays who committed himself & was great in the clubhouse.

Never forget your Father day's HR.

AA got rid of a couple nice guys, albeit they have become stiffs. Good move. Johnson has a bit of power......which doesn't take much over the latter two.

Sorry to see these two guys go. Both were not likely to be back next year as both would have been free agents - so a move with at least one of these guys was quite apparent. Johnson is having an off year as well. Maybe the move will turn it around for him. At least Hill and Johny Mac have a chance to play for a contender this year... Sad to see them go, but happy for them and the new opportunities it opens up for those two players and for the Jays.
