Toronto Police Pursue Bad Guys on Twitter

torontoOfficer Tony Vella of the Toronto Police Service uses his Twitter account to catch Toronto's crooks.

Here he is tweeting for Patrick Barrett to turn himself in, after speaking with a lawyer.

I don't think Bunk and McNulty would approve of this kind of police work, but it might have merits. For example, if I knew Patrick Barrett, I'd sure be breaking his balls right now.

McNulty would go to the major and get him to switch to a bigger, better more important case. Then he'd go drink some whiskey and crash his car into a bridge because he missed the 3 lanes that turned left. Then he'd back up and crash it again... BUT the case would be solved

Despite his drunkenness he'd probably manage not to repeatedly submit his blog comments...

Vic from the Shield wouldn't approve either.

Who knows if the Twitter approach worked, but Durham Regional Police reported earlier this evening that Barrett has turned himself in.

I highly doubt McNulty would know what Twitter was. And if he knew what it was, he wouldn't know how to use it.

Also, no way Marlo, Stringer, Prop Joe or Avon would ever allow the hoppers or the enforcers to use the internet for anything but porn.

And don't get me started on the Greek.

So I'm paying for these guys to Twitter at the nearest Tim Horton's?

Not surprised... gotta love City Workers.

This is probably better than trying to find him through StumbleUpon.
