Transformers Were More Than Meets the Eye!

Rewind YouTube user Retrontario frequently uploads fantastic retro-Toronto-centric gems. These clips never fail to bring back a ton of memories for me, so I feature them from time to time.

In 1984, I was all about Transformers. That Christmas, Optimus Prime was the top gift I asked for. As I recall, I got Sideswipe, but it was still pretty awesome.

I'm thinking about my old Transformers because my son wants to watch Transformers 2 right now. I've read enough about Transformers 2 to know I'm going to be disappointed, but fatherhood can't be all sunshine and lollipops.

Daddy should be thinking about Megan Fox, but instead he's thinking about this:

They used to be so very, very awesome. Now they're cool enough, but they'll never reach that same level of awesomeness I'm afraid.

Is this what happens when you trun into your 30s? You get belligerent about your son's toys because they're so lame compared to what your toys used to be?

That's an awesome name.

And yeah, when you turn 30 you become convinced everything from your youth was the best and everything from your kid's youth sucks. You think that b/c it's true.

Last night Mrs. Puckizin and I were listening to a CD in the hot tub, with Gin Blossoms, REM, Goo Goo Dolls, Bush, Pearl Jam, etc.
Can't wait for Sergei Jr. to refer to them as "oldies".
